It’s a twin scroll turbo I believe, twin turbo was the early 2007-2009 N54 engines for the e90/e92 body styles, they started using n55 motors 

Good cars but very unreliable and garbage after a few years, lots of lemons and buy backs and values are worse than a Honda Civic

You would have been better off with a Honda Civic

I drove a 2003 Mark IV Volkswagen GTI VR6 200 BHP  6 speed stick, which was naturally aspirated...It lasted 250,000 fun miles.

I presently drive a Sportwagen with a naturally aspirated 5 cylinder...Turbos burn up an engine faster.
