I recently got a set of rings and hung them from my rack. Harder to do certain things (stabilizers) like pullups.
And Ive been doing (some) ring pushups (w/ feet on bench). - When the shoulder pain allows me.

Theyre far harder and you can't swing with ring pull ups. 8 x 8 on bar pullups becomes 8 x 5 on the rings I've found. Much tougher.

After 20 years of free weights I think mentally and physically I've had enough and am transitioning to calisthenics type workouts. Will be interesting to see effects

Nice. And cool (incorporating the food component here as well). You seem to eat very clean.
I always tend to get loose with diet here from Thanksgiving to Xmas. Trying not to do it too much this year. (Except for SUN's, I tend to eat whatever).

I recently also removed carbs from my diet. Best think I ever did.

Yes, I’d say I eat very clean. Makes me feel so much better. I do splurge a little on the weekends.

I struggle a bit with the carb thing (Pasta mainly) but trying to lower intake to like once a week...

Back last night
Wide grip pull downs 5sets
Close grip 5sets
1arm Db rows 5sets
Straight arm pull downs with a rope
Really lost count of sets I was doing them real fast with very little rest between sets
Probably about 10 sets give or take
30 minutes cardio walking while listening to Otis Redding
Have a great day guys

For the record, the official "serious" training thread is on the Y.

But it requires membership.

Ain’t no on going to the Y

I am doing by nothing Resting between now and Saturday lifting event. I have actually had bad digestion for the last week hoping stomach gets better by Saturday with some extra rest plan is to open at 143 then 150 then 155 then will go for 160 on 4th attempt if I make all 3. The fourth doesn’t count towards placings but you can break records qualify or just set a PR on the 4th attempt

The goal this year is to have fun and put some lifts in the board. Next year I will do a proper 10 week training program for the same event and try to beat this years numbers. There are 30 guys registered from out of town including a 400lb guy who has the highest tested curling record (217lbs) so should be some really good lifting and possibly some records will be broken.

Bench Day (w/ Tri's)

Tried empty-bar warmup, then 135 warmup, pain too severe.

Put on Sling-Shot (S-S) and was able to bench. (The main reason why Bell invented (or came up with) it anyways).

Bench
S-S Bench - 4 sets, 225 x 8
Close Grip S-S Bench - 4 sets, 225 x 8
Incline S-S Bench - 4 sets, 200 x 8
D-Bell Bench Press - 4 sets, 50's x 10

Tri's
D-Bell Skull Crushers - 4 sets
Dips (Assisted) - 4 sets
Cable skull-crushers (Standing, bent FWD) - 4 sets

Food

PWO:
2 coffee's and banana

Post:
Rice cake w/ peanut butter
1/2 cup oats w/ 1-cup of 2% milk
Shake

(Shake = 2 cups of 2% milk, 1 cup of egg-nog, scoop of whey. (740 calories).

I am only really competing against myself. I will be first second and last. It’s my first event after 3 weeks of training. I don’t expect to be a world record breaker. If I hit my lifts that’s win regardless of what others do.  This is a good example of how I didn’t ruin the other thread getting off topic you did with personal attacks on others.
