Thanks for the thoughtful answers But what would you say to someone who says blacks are genetically more prone to violence and impulsivity? You are probably familiar with the discussions on black vs white time preference. All those chimpouts in public areas, are they just a cultural phenomenon or connected to being poor? And regardless of these factors, racial animus does exist, therefore a lone white may become prey in a black gathering. Do you "believe" in IQ? If you do what do you think the reason is for the black vs white disparity (85 in African Americans, 100 in white Euros)? It hasn't changed despite lots of social programs and efforts with school. I'm a big believer in genetics, I believe the pages of our lives are mostly written when we are born. You don't have to answer, I'm just curious as always about how smart people view things

Indians born in the UK, even if raised by white Englishmen, will be different from whites on average, owing to genes formed in a very different place in the world. Even something like climate will affect genes over time. Whites in cold climates learned to plan for the winter, raising IQ, blacks may have lived in places where you had food, fruits and vegetables for example, throughout the year. American blacks are trailing badly in IQ and life outcomes despite all efforts to equalize opportunity. Maybe enough times hasn't gone by yet? I'm skeptical...

IQ certainly plays a part, but I also agree with Jeff that culture (and in my opinion, economic class) has a lot to do with it. This will be a bit disjointed, but it will get somewhere.

For a majority of Blacks, the White will always be the Devil. It's not going to change, I didn't notice it as a kid, but as we grew up I could see it develop. Now to how much they hate or blame you, it varies, but make no mistake any Black troubles still lead to the White man for most.

Culturally, the Blacks more than any other race don't have the ability to step back and occasionally take a loss. For some it might be IQ based, but for many it's cultural. You can't be seen as a punk or gotten over on, so any grievance must be addressed. This also goes along with economic class, especially in urban areas. In poor areas, there is always a predator and prey thing happening. Once you're seen as weak, you're done. They're stealing your shoes this week, your coat the next, etc....

Another thing that has happened at least in the States, is the levels of violence that Blacks accept has grown. Growing up there was always some nasty violence, but for most things, a bad fist fight was as high as it went. It simply got more acceptable among the Blacks to go straight to guns.

Also amongst a lot of Blacks, I've noticed a stunted sense of Empathy, especially the last few decades. If you can't feel empathy for someone else, then it becomes much easy to destroy or kill.  I'm not going to blame that on IQ. Much of that is socio-economic. The Blacks I know that grew up in somewhat stable middle class families don't have these problems.

Anyway, as I look at this wordy vomit, I guess what I'm saying is that it boils down to a whole pie chart of things rather than just a few. Also, this is just what I see in the US.

In my experience African blacks are much different than Americans blacks

Yes this is what many assume. However nearly always these people haven't actually looked into it at all, how they are constructed, how there are efforts to make the tests unbiased culturally. Most people assume things about all sorts of subjects and have very strong opinions without having done any actual work to understand things. Think about this, if the white man made the test to favor them, how come the yellow man is considetably better at them?

You know people are subjected to IQ tests all through life to qualify for jobs for example? Only they are not called IQ tests because that's a loaded term. If a young man wants to go into the military he has to do lots of IQ tests, you need to score above a certain limit or you're not going to fly jets any time soon. Are these unfairly biased against the black man? What would you suggest they do instead?

Would be interesting to see this test done to african heritage people in US and then same test to those really in Africa.
Slaves weren’t hunted by white men but sold by their own brethen.
Now a drastic generazation would be that the smart ones sold the dumb ones.
This was done mostly in mid part of western Africa.

Middle eastern Arabs tried to slave Somali people but they would rather just die by the whip rather than work…

Then again Africa would have potential with resources but haven’t really progressed at all so there is that. More Somalis?

What you call emotional processing is also dictated by genes. IMHO. And OF COURSE environment and culture also plays a part, as does your moms diet during pregnancy and your diet growing up, but in developed countries it's relatively minor compared to the genetic impact. Think about this: there are plenty of studies comparing adopted twins who were separated and grew up in very different environments, sometimes on different continents. And what they have found is that IQs were pretty much identical. And often little things like music preferences were identical too, same favorite artists, seemingly showing how genes dominate over cultural impacts.

Another interesting thing is related to the "time preference" I mentioned earlier. Little children's development is often tested by measuring their ability to delay gratification. For example, a child is told it can either have one piece of candy now or three if they wait one hour. Black children more often choose option one. What's noteworty is that black childrens IQ is actually higher up to a certain age, forget what it was. Often criminals have this inability to delay gratification, they want the stimulus right now. We shouldn't prejudge a certain individual, but many would argue that it's critical to note average differences, especially when designing social programs.

Just assuming we are all equal and unwritten books when born is a leftist, liberal idea. Just a note to those here who hate the libturds. They say conservatives see the world as it is and libturds as they want it to be. But on certain subjects this is disregarded...

We are taller than our parents or grandparents due to nutrition. Even my parents generation (in Scandinavia) didn't have the best nutrition growing up, for example too low on protein imo, due to being from poor families. Nutrition is still a problem in many parts which will affect intellectual development, not to mention exposure to heavy metals in developing countries like lead which will affect IQ very negatively.

There is a lot of material on IQ tests on the net, about rigging, cultural bias and what have you. A lot of the stuff I've read has come via unz.com but it may be biased, it's this detestable thing called "scientific racism" which is not OK to the establishment, no matter how true. Even if some is crap or biased or outrigt false it's still obvious to me that certain "truths" cannot be mentioned due to what they perceive would be negative social effects. In the scientific community there have been published policy papers on how to disseminate new genetics research so people won't get the "wrong" ideas. But let's say research seems to indicate certain groups will not have equal outcomes despite equal opportunities, seems to me this would be an important consideration ...

I'm not at all saying any pf this to imoly I'm smarter than some other race because I'm white. I did some IQ tests maybe 25-30 years ago and managed to score about the average 100 for my demographic. I haven't wanted to test again in case it was a fluke, testing much below that would be very demoralising. If someone thinks you can raise your IQ please let me know how...
