What's with all the pillows?

I've seen this a number of times. On their beds, women have an arrangement of like 20 pillows. What's the point of this?

I have 6 pillows and use 4 to sleep.  If we are at a hotel and there are only 4 pillows I will sleep w/3 and my husband will use one.  If we are at a hotel w/only 2 pillows I will use 1 and a rolled up towel.

I don't have decorative pillows.  I don't even want to make they bed let alone put all those fru fru pillows back on.

  I have 4 pillows and a body pillow.  I use 2 pillows for my head and the body pillow.  I have a king size bed so the other 2 pillows may or may not be being used 8)
