What issue do you have with lift? It's been used for snatch training for a long time. Old head Russian showed me that.

OK big boy. I am no powerlifter or strongman so was seriously asking.
If there´s a reason then fair one ;)

OK the "Berg Hantel" i recognize an old German Barbell company rather like York but why the splits?
I understand maybe the lower squat position training strength for explosive power but why such a pose...maybe it was just that a pose of strength & flexibility for a mag

I would like to see some of these unusual lifts explained & it would deserve its own thread.
Maybe from JPM101, chaos, Ironnat ...Oldtimer1

I'll post a pic of me doing a full split with a barbell overhead.

Soon.  Have patience while I load the bar.

I thought maybe you had some concerns about it. I know bodybuilders frown on anything behind the neck. Personally I only ever used that type of move as a warm up, loosen the joints, hips and shoulders specifically for me.
Have you ever done overhead squats?

I think I tried them years ago but can't really remember...a bit foggy my memory now.
I personally don't use anything behind my neck but as I wrote on another post back in the day I did plenty of chins behind my neck but never the BB Press.
Just my preference
A guy I knew in the gym did everything behind his neck & he said he'd no problems.
I do like clean & press infact just doing cleans from the floor is a great warm up.
I was just curious as I figured holding the squat position was probably strengthening the tendons & ligaments for explosive power from that position in say weightlifting
