Title: Would you rather look a little ugly and have a good body or vice versa

It doesn't matter when it comes to attracting women.

If you're ugly then thats fine! Just treat them like dirt and they will worship the ground you walk on.  :)

There's no doubt you can change your body, although if you have deformed bodyparts, there's still only so much you can do.  But still, a lot less difficult to train your body into shape, than have to buy a whole new face. Those who have ugly personalities probably have the worst time of all, since they'll more than likely never be happy...

Who wants to be with someone who likes to be treated like dirt?

No it is those who have ugly personalities, AND a ugly face who have it the worse.

But imagine being back in the Middle Ages, where they preferred ugly women. Damn, that must have been a sight.

Lol.  True.  I was talking to my gf about one of her friends who is a behemoth and ugly and I told her she got a raw deal.  At least if she had a decent face she could diet but you can't cure the beating from the ugly stick.

"Behemoth," hahaha.  ;D

Everyone is beautiful in their own way... maybe she's chunky and has great boobs... or maybe she's got great legs...

Define  "fat" anyway... 10-15 pounds... pshaw... nothing... 300 pounds, well, that's something different.

Ugly is not always outward appearance... There's lots of "ugly" pretty people out there.

Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen Degeneres, etc

Rosie's just overweight... she probably would look pretty if she lost the weight.  Ellen isn't "ugly."  Btw... funny you chose two gay women.  ;D

Lol, not when you are looking at them and considering whether you would bone them.

I dunno man... I'd prolly bang Martha... Lots of money and she would so cook your food however you needed it... It would be an excellent arrangement for a bodybuilder... get to workout as much as you want... food like you need... Money for drugs... and you just have to hit it 3 or 4 times a week?

I could prolly do that... I know... I know... I'm a sicko... sorry.

They preferred ugly women in the Middle Ages?  But...but... back then, knights fought and died for their lady loves...

Back then women had 13 inch waists...

A lot has changed, find a women with a legit 13 inch waist who is not anorexic...

The knights were not fighting for their lady loves, they were fighting to see who was first to get the chasity belt off.

Lol, perhaps, I guess some things don't change. But some beautiful poetry got written at the same time.

Actually women had impossible waists even in the 1920's. No wonder they called us the weaker sex.  Women were swooning and fainting all the time because they couldn't breathe. I would have rather hung in my bed in a loose dressing gown all day too.  :-\

Yeah, whale bone corsets created an illusion of a small waist (and a big rump). I saw a diagram of how the intestines and organs were smashed together to have that small waist.

I've also heard that this fashion was the reason why many childbirths were... unsuccessful. They wore them until it absolutely wasn't physically possible anymore. But then again, look at all the things we do to ourselves in the name of beauty today. Men too, not to such a great degree, but almost heading there.

The foot binding thing was even more disgusting... apparently as the gnarled toes festered and broke under the bindings, they took on this terrible, awful odor, which men found extremely erotic.  :-X

Lol.  I mentioned who is famous and ugly.  I'm sure there are more but those came to mind.  The Queen of England is and was butt ugly from what I have seen.  Serena Williams is ugly and so is Venus.  I could think and think if you want...

A good body is one like Jessica Simpson IMO.  Not anorexic, curvy enough, athletic, not chubby.  Just right.

I think women from the 40's and 50's are classic and beautiful.  If I had to pic one famous good looking woman to marry, Audrey Hepburn, hands down.  Breakfast at Tiffany's showed her beauty.  Yea that was corny but she was gorgeous.

I agree!! Audrey Hepburn has to be the most beautiful woman from that era. Grace Kelly had something too, but Audrey was absolutely gorgeous.

It seems that women when they are sleeping with, aka dating, is the word to keep women from feeling bad, with dudes they want a man who has a nice body and face, but when they marry, they want a man who won't run away, aka slight overweight and average face.
A study was done where women would pic out pictures of guys they would marry. Overwhelmingly the women picked average guys.

Come on Linda... women like guys who treat them like shit... I know that you talk about "nice guys", but if a guy comes along and he's great to you, you step all over him... Only when he's a bit of a dick does he get enough respect that you want to go out with him in the first place.

I think there's a big difference between men who treat women like dirt, and those who are self-assured, confident, and a little bit aloof.  Any women who actually likes being abused and treated badly and looks for it, has serious self-esteem issues.  I can't imagine who would want to waste their time being with someone like that in the first place.

Women discriminate based on height.  Just learned that.  That's a bummer for guys.  I guess body does matter.

Oh, I coulda told you that... I once asked a girl out who was 5'9" or so... I'm 5'6"... she straight up said I was "too short".

I was dumbfounded... wonder if she's living in a trailer right now?

No I mean, you could be rich, better looking, etc and height wins.  It kind of contradicts the gold digger theory in some respects.  Kinda lame if you ask me

Dude, I'm 5'5", and all the women I have dated were 5'7-5'11. Don't know why, but women who are shorter than me pass me by (except for freaky chicks)

But I have noticed that very short (5'0-5'2) and petite women have a fierce Napoloean Complex, more so than a guy. I'm talking rabid Raccoon type of mentality.

It's amazingly lame... Believe me, at the time I was much better off financially than this girl, decent shape, and hardly ugly... She just said I was too short... she even said it to other people who were like WTF?

Very weird.

Why do you call physical preferences discriminating? Or are you just referring to this particular preference as discriminating because it's a "woman's" preference.  For instance, is it somehow less discriminating for a man to prefer being with a beautiful woman rather than her mediocre counterpart?  Do you think it's discrimination that you, like many men, prefer women with double deedee's  ;)

Is this an example of double standard?  Is it okay for a man to have physical preferences, and yet women are supposed to act on some kind of higher plane and not be concerned with the physical? Just curious.

I'm ok with preferences... that's not a real big deal, but height as a requirement? I mean, I could see saying you're short because you have a hump back, I get it... But height? Dag... that's just such a low priority on the list.

Perhaps that's the difference between men and women... No guy cares how tall or short a woman is... we just don't care about that.

Women do I guess.

I think that's just your personal perception.  There are lots of men who prefer tall, leggy model types and won't be with anyone else.  There are also lots of men who ONLY go with women who have big breasts. Or who are raven-haired, or blonde. It's all the same thing.

I said we all have preferences... I've honestly never known a guy to have a height requirement... that's all I'm saying... I know lots of guys, and I've never heard a guy say, "Well, she's too tall." or "Nah, she's too short."

Not much going on bro... lazy sat afternoon here..my wife is out and about,  I got one kid asleep and the other making a mess in the office.. things are good.

Its funny some of the other stuff going on the "other" board. It's good to see you posting here and fitting in well.

I don't really understand the whole requirements thing either. But some people just like "types."  And you'd be probably very surprised to know how many guys do have height preferences... which either tend towards tall and model-like, or really short pixie-type girls. Maybe because you're a guy, you don't discuss it much among yourselves (convos are usually about boobs and butts) but I've had lots of male friends tell me about their preferred height for women.

How to answer.  I discriminate based on boobs, to a point.  I like the Double Deedees but can live with CeeCees have never done the BeeBees.  Lol.  I think it's more than a preference.  It was introduced to me as something that is more of a universal for all women.  Some women/men like butts, some men like big chests, some like brunettes some like blondes (both sexes).  I don't consider it a double standard but as a more generality I think men look for curvier women so that could be analgous to the female "height rule".  Big breasts aren't high on the top 5 criteria for men concerning women.  Humor is at the top for both though.  ;D

Definitely! Otherwise half the people in relationships would be murder victims by now.  ;D

But I agree that the height rule is analogous with the curvier women rule.  I think it's based on the traditional concepts of what's regarded as male and female.  Although apparently shorter guys are supposed to have the capacity to be stronger and do better in fights. I also read something that when women are ovulating they tend to find the bigger/more chiseled chin kind of guy more attractive than they might at other times.
