Mr. Flex Lewis could be holding that trophy had he entered the Mens Open.

Check out the pic of the top 5... holding a lot of water, I tells ya...

nobody bothered bringing the top level conditioning to this show.  everyone was a water-y mess.

Although even if Rockel or Rolly comes in completely dry, a 90% branch probably still beats them, so why bother?

Branch has a physique that will win every show - based upon BBing judging standards.

By "the eye", his physique was probably the least pleasing of everyone up there.

this means in other words - there is something wrong with "judging standards"

There isn't and this has been covered before. If you give it to the guy who's got the best lines, then you don't have any standards to gauge by, since he's going to win every time as long as he doesn't look too out of shape. Guys like Branch would then have no reason to keep trying, since they're never going to look as good as guys like Flex Wheeler, no matter how good their conditioning and muscularity is.

The problem is the lack of quality competitors and the overuse of things like Synthol and Insulin, that's made most of today's pros look like crap compared to the top guys from the 90s, who are still the benchmark.

If there were new pros competing who looked like the top pros from the 90s, the judging criteria would favour them over guys like Branch, as long as they are in good conditioning.
