BUY IT HERE

This is quite possibly the most impressive training video I've ever seen - and I've seen them all.  This guy could hold his own in terms of strength to pretty well any pro, including Ronnie.  He was easily stronger than Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Gustavo Badell, and almost any top pro competing today other than Johnnie Jackson and Ronnie Coleman.  I even think he could slaughter JOJ in the gym when doing this much weight set after set (and not just for one rep in a powerlifting meet).

This video was unbelievable before "Unbelievable" was released.   :o

Sorry Borracho, I can only put up pics and short clips under fair use guidelines, so I do what I can working within those restrictions.

Good review Matt. I'm reading it right now. Cool video being it's over 20 years old. Looks one hell of a strong guy, I can tell you're impressed!

I wanna see that video too.

I've noticed that he always put several 35 lb plates on the outside of the bar to make the weight look heavier. He's only benching and squatting around 435 in those pics.

ask Onlyme about him, he says Bertil could handle 500lbs with sheer ease. I taped death and the Bodybuilder last year and the weight he used was fukkin incredible, especially as it was almost 25 years ago. Bertil was as thick as they come

Yep, I got a copy of it not too long ago.  I plan to do a full review with some screencaps soon.  He was definitely the strongest presser of his time, and even today the only person who I think would stand a chance of beating him on pressing movements would be Ronnie, and even then, it would be close.  And we all know how much of a freak Ronnie is.

i agree Matt, on his second video he pressed 305 behind the neck seated to the bottom of his ear for 8 of the easiest reps i've ever seen and he had been retired for awhile i think it was filmed in like 90 or 91.

Yeah, he dwarfs Arnold in that pic.  They were both "offseason".  Offseason for Bertil is a Dennis James marshmallow man offseason, while it is skinny for Arnold (he was just getting into the movies).  No matter what the reason, he still looks twice as wide as Arnie.

As for the Bertil 2 DVD, I haven't seen it yet, but I did hear that it was from around 1991.  That would put Bertil at 40 years of age.  It will be cool to see how strong he is at that point in his life.

I did hear he was down to 160 now in jail.   :-\

he was still strong as an ox in the second one, especially on presses.

thats what they stated in Flex cos Rick Wade said he was. Thickest chest ive ever seen, the documentary showed footage of his posing routine at the 83 Olympia. He was unmatched by anyone of that era but lost his way after he was screwed
