For years people have gone ape shit over Elvis from Elvis impersonations, to visiting Graceland, etc.. And now with the death of another ~~pedophile~~ music legend (so society thinks) Michael Jackson seems to be causing quite a stir.

So in the end, will Elvis still tromp MJ?

Michael Jackson is more popular to answer the question, but only because he is more recent. Personally I used to like his music back in the 70's and early 80's until it was becoming obvious he was a pedophile. Unlike most Americans, I can't look past that because I like a song.

Elvis clearly from a Uk point of view, i duno what its like world over.Nobodys been interested in jackson apart from seeing him live for about 20 years.His albums have been terrible in that time, and im saying that as a fan of his stuff.

yes, there's the argument that elvis stole black music (which i believe), but he wrote his own.

both ended up on a down note, i'll agree. but whereas it was somewhat commonplace and accepted that rockstars were druggies and alchies, it's not acceptable to be a pedophile. does that overshadow music? i guess it does in my book.

so i'll vote for elvis.

Elvis did a benefit concert and donated the money to help build the Arizona Memorial in Hawaii. He is the most popular of the 2. Pllus he was pretty successful on the big screen too. MJ is awesome though but Elvis just had that "it" factor. Prince is one ugly guy. He gets the hottest chicks because he helps them start their careers and pays them. Ask Vanity or Carmen Electra. Elvis has lasted over 50 years and 30+ after his death his estate still pulls in more than $100 million a year

Lol this thread is so american centric it hurts...Elvis or MJ in Britain the result isn't even close...Michael Jackson by a thousand million miles...Elvis is an icon but you'd be hard pushed to find many people that actually really like his music. its the kind of thing my dad might listen too

I dont know anybody that doesnt like Michael Jackson or cant instantly recognise his voice.
