I've never done it myself of course but to have a good chance of 405x1 on squats I would think you need to be able to do ~315 for 8-10 reps without much trouble.

A wobbly 275x8 seems like a consistent strength level we've seen bhanks demonstrate (a wobbly 350x1).

Personally I find most "one-rep max estimator" formulas greatly overestimate my strength when I use weights I can do for 8-10 reps but maybe I'm just a pussy.

Comparison of depth 275vs315 need to bring 315 a little lower was having lower back pump issues today tried to used a pad today not sure it helped my form was harder to get it back where I wanted it

One inch or so of depth is not the game changer between great leg development and what you are dealing with.

Yeah, I suggested lower weight, higher rep, more pump type elevated heel type squats over the heavier stuff.

I like training for strength, but there are diminishing returns with some stuff.  His squat depth is fine for recreational lifting. Trying to do 405 because of randos on a site is just stupid, and will have no tangible effect on development.

What I'm saying is the inch of depth isn't going to have a tangible impact on your current state.

You're not going to change anything at all by dropping a bit more.

Maybe that is why I add in the high rep leg press and extensions after squats also I walk the heavy sand on the beach really activates the calves
