True, but you have no control over what other drivers do.  This is why motorcycle riding is so dangerous and it doesn't matter if you were in the right of way if you are hit.  "It's not who is right, it's who is left."

You are correct about having no control over drivers.  But the baller and I were on bikes.  In my case I was in the bike lane.

A motorcyclist can accelerate away from perils in the blink of an eye.

R.I.P.: LORINA KAMBUROVA OF LEATHERFACE HAS PASSED AWAY AT 30

Bulgarian actress Lorina Kamburova didn't have the opportunity to have a very long career, but she packed a lot of horror into the few short years she did have. She made her feature debut in 2017's Nightworld, starring Robert Englund, and followed that up with projects like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface, the remake Day of the Dead: Bloodline, and the video game adaptation Doom: Annihilation. Genre fans may have also seen her in Death Race: Beyond Anarchy, and she has a role in the newly released Russian film Love and Monsters (which is not related to last year's English-language film Love and Monsters).

Sadly, it has been confirmed that Kamburova passed away in a Moscow hospital last month. She was only 30 years old. The cause of death was bilateral pneumonia, the result of lung problems that developed after she caught COVID-19.

Clarence Williams III, 'The Mod Squad' and 'Purple Rain' star, dies at 81

LOS ANGELES — Clarence Williams III, an actor known for portraying Linc Hayes on "The Mod Squad" and Prince's father in "Purple Rain," died on Friday. He was 81.

Williams' management confirmed his death to Variety, citing the cause as colon cancer.

Williams broke through in 1968 as one of the stars of the counterculture cop show "The Mod Squad," also starring then-unknown actors Peggy Lipton and Michael Cole. He was a mainstay of the series until its end in 1973, and went on to have a career in film, television and theater spanning four decades.

Williams portrayed Prince's father in 1984's "Purple Rain" and had a recurring role as FBI Agent Roger Hardy on the TV show "Twin Peaks." He also had a long-running collaboration with director John Frankenheimer, playing Bobby Shy in 1986's "52 Pick-Up," Chaka in 1994's "Against the Wall," Archie in the 1997 TV movie "George Wallace" and Merlin in 2000's "Reindeer Games."

Born in New York City on Aug. 21, 1939, Williams began his career in acting on stage in "Dark of the Moon" in 1957, directed by Vinette Caroll. He also starred opposite Geraldine Page in "The Great Outdoors" on Broadway. In 1965, Williams earned a Tony nomination and Theatre World award for his starring performance in "Slow Dance on the Killing Ground." Williams' other theater credits include co-starring with Maggie Smith in Tom Stoppard's "Night and Day" and leading Joseph Papp's "King John" at the Delacorte Theatre.

Williams' other film credits include "The General's Daughter," "Sugar Hill," "Half Baked," "Deep Cover," "Hoodlum," "The Brave," "Happy Here and Now," "The Legend of 1900" and "Life." More recently, Williams appeared in "Lee Daniels' The Butler" in 2013 as Maynard.

Williams is survived by his sister Sondra Pugh, daughter Jamey Phillips, niece Suyin Shaw, grandnephews Elliot Shaw and Ese Shaw and grandniece Azaria Verdin.

'Network' & 'Superman' Actor Ned Beatty Dead at 83

Ned Beatty -- a veteran character actor, famous for his work in "Superman," "Network" and several other iconic films -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

A family member tells TMZ ... Ned passed away in his sleep Sunday while surrounded by family at his home. No other details surrounding the exact circumstances of his death were immediately available -- however, we've been told his passing is NOT COVID-related.

The guy has appeared in a variety of different movies and an even bigger variety of roles over his five-decade-plus career ... giving us memorable characters and even better performances. He'll perhaps best be remembered for his standout monologue in 1976's "Network," in which he played a TV/communications chief, who tries convincing the protagonist to stop resisting a major merger deal that will adversely affect the masses.

It's an epic 5 to 6-minute speech he gives to the fictional truthteller, Howard Beale -- one of the only times Beatty appeared on screen in this flick, BTW -- ... and it earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Oscars that year. That's how great it is.

Beatty had scores of other unforgettable movie moments -- notably, as the bumbling sidekick to Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor, Otis, in the 1978 version of "Superman" in which he completely flipped the script from serious to comedic ... which he carried on for the sequel too. In other words, Beatty had incredible range -- and flexed it often in his acting.

Other remarkable film credits include ... "Deliverance," -- infamous for its "Squeal like a pig rape scene, of which Beatty was the onscreen victim -- "Friendly Fire," "All the President's Men," "Silver Streak," "Back to School," "Nashville," "The Big Easy," "The Toy," "1941," "Silver Streak," "Captain America," "Rudy," "White Lightning," "Prelude to a Kiss," "Hear My Song," "Restless Native," "Life," "Shooter," "Charlie Wilson's War" and even a couple voice acting roles in "Rango" as well as "Toy Story 3," in which he played Lotso ... the evil pink bear.

Ned had appeared in several big hit TV shows as well through the years, such as "Law & Order," "Roseanne," "The Boys," "Highway to Heaven," "American Playhouse," "Szysznyk," "The Rockford Files," "M*A*S*H*," "Homicide: Life on the Street," 'CSI,' "Murder, She Wrote" and countless others.

He's survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson, and his eight children and grandchildren. Ned was 83.

RIP

Ned Beatty's cheeks were perched upon a log,
His shit was packed by a hillbilly's hog,
His anus was intruded by a toothless country freak,
He just laid here and moaned, man it must have hurt for weeks,
Ned Beatty's cheeks!

They should have put that to music and had it as background music.  Great soundtrack.

'Gone Girl' Actor Lisa Banes Dead at 65 After Hit-and-Run Scooter Accident

"Gone Girl" actor Lisa Banes has died after suffering injuries from a hit-and-run accident caused by an electric scooter ... TMZ has confirmed.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Banes died Monday after more than a week in the hospital in critical condition.

As we reported ... Banes was struck while using a crosswalk on the Upper West Side in NYC on June 4, witnesses said Banes had the right of way -- but the scooter driver barreled through a red light, striking her, and kept going. The scooter was described as red and black in color.

Cops have not yet made any arrests and have not released a more detailed description of the driver.

A rep for Banes -- who was best known for her roles in "Gone Girl" and "Cocktail" -- told ET, "We are heartsick over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends. We were blessed to have had her in our lives."

Banes was 65.
