The Democrat Party is now projected to win The House, in a reversal of fortune for the republican party. Amazing.

Whenever it takes days to count votes you know the democrats are going to win. They aren't even trying to hide shit anymore. We live in a dictatorship.

Can't admit Repubs have a problem called " Donald Trump "?
What does that have to do with taking days and weeks to count votes?

States control how we vote and some of the states who have the most controversial methods (Arizona, Nevada) have methods that have been established by Republican legislators.

Democrats tend to favor the new methods that favor early voting and mail in voting and many Republicans tend to be uncomfortable with them. All this early voting is exactly what causes counting delays because many or most of these votes cannot go through a machine (now, please don’t complain about the machines.)

Republicans clearly OPPOSE any federal government legislation to standardize or tell states what to do about this. So it leaves it with the Democratic and Republican state legislatures to continue to figure it out.

So here is what states could do:

1. Leave it like it is and just face the fact that voting is going to take many days after Election Day in lots of places.

2. Hannity proposes that Election Day be declared a National Holiday and everybody (except sick, elderly, disabled) be required to go vote in person on Election Day. Well, that is a lot of extra holidays, and then what exactly is the procedure for the sick and disabled? A note from your doctor? Showing up somewhere in your wheelchair so they can see first hand that it would be hard for you to vote?

3. Hire milllons more election workers so the hand count can be done quicker. Maybe this is a good idea but puts burdens on individual County funding (maybe the States sunsidize their counties).

Two more thoughts:

A friend of mine (actually a Democrat) likes Hannity’s idea but said it should not be a Holiday but said there needs to be a national law that requires employers to let you leave work to go vote without docking your pay. But this still leaves us with what to do about the sick and disabled, and do you really trust the employers to follow the law?

My  own thought (I generally support early voting): it is ridiculous to say we will wait for the mail to come in as long as you postmark it by Election Day. That just stretches it out too long. There needs to be an earlier cutoff.

These aren't elections... they are selections. The amount of fraud is incomprehensible for most. Mail in ballots and drop boxes will lead to Dems winning every election they really want to win until the shit hits the fan. If Kari Lake loses to Katie Hobbs, you are kidding yourself if you believe there was no cheating. Claim all you want that Lake's pro Trump rhetoric doomed her... if you hate Trump and what he stands for, good for you. But realistically there is no chance Lake would lose to someone with the intellect and projection when she speaks of a 12 year old. Finally, someone who has 140000 followers across the main 3 social media sites, beat someone with over 1.1 million? Laughable

NBC just called the House race for the GOP with at least a 219-216 margin.

Decision Desk HQ has it 215-201 GOP, as of now.

They will let republicans win the House, Senate and the Presidency when they know a depression is right around the corner and they can pin the blame on them.

It’s basically what you’re gonna see for the next two years. With inflation and high interest rates, the spending orgy is over. So, now the Republicans can come in and play Bad Cop.

What is your source? Left leaning Politico is showing the Republicans are still favored:

That said, it is pathetic that it’s this close:

The balance of power in the House currently stands at 211 Republicans and 203 Democrats — but, functionally, it’s more closely divided. The list of uncalled races includes one California contest where both general-election candidates are Democrats. And allocating the roughly dozen races where one party is significantly favored — but where The AP hasn’t made a call — adds six more seats to the Democratic Party’s tally, and four races to Republicans’.

That would put Republicans at 215 seats, just three seats away from the majority, while Democrats would be six seats short. But with 10 seats in doubtsix with Republicans leading, and four where Democrats are ahead — both parties still have a shot, though the GOP is still favored.

https://www.politico.com/news/2022/11/12/house-midterm-elections-00066615

Yes, Politico is saying the GOP is favored.  The math looks like it's going to be 221 seats for the GOP.

I still don't understand why just one day? why isnt it an election week ?

I agree.  As long as you are legal resident, can show ID or DL and/SS card(s), and vote in person it should be a week.  No mail-in ballots allowed anywhere, and voting machines are out.  Fill out your shit by hand so there is no fucking it up or 3rd party (Dominion) switching people's choices.  Absentee ballots with a reason are fine, and Hannity's plan said those were still allowed too.

Clear every entire voter role, and make every living person that wants to vote re-register.  It costs nothing, and it takes 5-10 minutes at most to do...........you've got 2 years, so it's not a big deal to do.

This shouldn't be such a cluster fucker.  I don't remember things being like this until 2016, 2018, and especially 2020 when the dems had the power to OK mail-in voting cuz of covid.  Couldn't Trump have vetoed that shit?  If so, he's to blame as much as the Dems for the shit-show we have now.

P.S. - If Desantis or someone like Noem runs, I'm not voting for Trump in 2024.  Too devisive, already calling Desantis names which will divide the party too, all rallies are just rambling and bitching about be robbed in 2020 (which he was), and backing weak ass candidates.  In the future Repub candidates should not mention MAGA or his name at all.

It will now take up to WEEKS to finish counting votes and decide House results. Dems most likely to win.
