Home sales saw their biggest month-on-month decline since November 2022 in March, dropping by 4.3 percent compared to February. Meanwhile, the average 30-year fixed mortgage surged to 7.1 percent — its highest since the end of last year.

Average monthly new mortgage payments are 38 percent higher than average apartment rent, with this double-digit disparity persisting for a two-year period. This is discouraging Americans from buying their own homes, with sales down 3.7 percent year-on-year.

Do you remember that the 30-year fixed mortgage rate reached a pinnacle of 18.4 percent in October 1981. Oh sorry, were you even born yet? How could you possibly remember something that happened in 1981? Well, when that all time high rate happened it was also because of runaway inflation... and Ronald Reagan was President. Alina Habba: Criminal and Civil Courts Being Used Against Trump Because ‘They Cannot Beat Him in the Polls’

Alina Habba, lawyer and spokesperson for former President Donald Trump, accused Democrats of going after the Republican presidential nominee in court because they cannot beat him in the polls.

“The fact that we have two courts, not one — criminal and civil — being used against one man because they cannot beat him in the polls is a disgrace to the American judicial system,” she said in remarks at the New York State Supreme Court Building in Manhattan after opening arguments in the hush money case.

“You should not have two teams of lawyers here today. You should not even be here today, because he did nothing wrong. It is the epitome of a witch hunt,” she told reporters.

Habba said she had just come from a different court where Trump has been accused of inflating the value of his assets to receive favorable loans he has since paid back. He was at first ordered to post a $454 million bond before he could appeal, but an appellate court ruled he would only have to post $175 million. New York Judge Arthur Engoron on Monday accepted that bond, which will prevent Democrat New York Attorney General Letitia James from seizing his assets as he appeals the case.

Habba accused Engoron of not understanding “basic principles of financing” and said he and James “had no idea what they were talking about.”

She called the hush money case — in which Bragg is accusing Trump of falsifying business records — a “joke” and “an affront” to the judicial system.

“I am sick of coming in front of the press and saying this, but you have to because you people need to understand what is going on. God forbid you put an accounting thing in for ‘legal counsel.’ … Because they’re afraid of 2024. And you know what? They should be because the American people are not stupid. They see what’s going on,” she said.

Housing in the US is simply unaffordable, particularly after HUD levied new regulation rising the cost of new housing up to $31,000. Wait for this to kick into the data for mortgage demand!

Mortgage applications decreased 2.3 percent from one week earlier, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending April 26, 2024.

The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, decreased 2.3 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the Index decreased 1.4 percent compared with the previous week. The seasonally adjusted Purchase Index decreased 2 percent from one week earlier. The unadjusted Purchase Index decreased 1 percent compared with the previous week and was 14 percent lower than the same week one year ago.

The Refinance Index decreased 3 percent from the previous week and was 1 percent lower than the same week one year ago.

How is the Biden Regime making homeownership more affordable? They aren’t. The are using regulations, to drive the cost of new housing way up. New HUD energy rules will raise the cost of home construction by imposing stricter building codes. The National Association of Home Builders says the energy rules can add as much as $31,000 to the price of a new home. Payback time is 90 years (how long it will take the recoup the initial investment).

Under Biden’s “leadership” we are all addicted to gov. But at least Ukraine and Zelenskyy will be getting a guaranteed 10 years of financial support from the US … while E Palestine Ohio and Maui remain destroyed.
