This. If you go there and are a serious lifter, you are doing so just to start shit. That said, did I hear correctly that they have free fucking pizza? ???
Yep, "Pizza Night" as a "reward", and they have other foods as "rewards"...
And the people who partake in such "rewards", do not make such "positive gains".

Thing is, is that they probably aren't talking about real deadlifts anyway. Probably a bunch of Muscle and Fitness reading schlubs getting yelled at for setting #315 down loudly  ::).

If one actually lifts weights, and is not a tiny man, woman, or child, then it is a small number. #315 should be an easy deadlift for an average sized adult male. It's not like they've got Savickas, etc...... or even a good number of strong people lifting there.

Bottom line is, Planet Fitness is for the average person who wants to claim that they work out...to ease their own conscious. It's for the slacker as well. The workout in name only types. Sure you'll get some fit people, but bottomline is, people who are serious about working out, don't really go to Planet Fitness. And the owners know that, which is why they mock bodybuilders. Because bodybuilders are the extreme, the opposite of who they want to attract. What slightly overweight man or woman wants to join a gym with muscled up, "screaming, weight tossing (Branch), steroidal freaks? And vice versa?
No, such people want to do a very causal workout, and have Pizza Nights at Planet Fitness...
And never really accomplish their goals, but accomplish the goal of the owners, to get their money..

most gyms repulse the average joe who s laughed at by the gym rats, meatheads, etc. Who s dumber, the newcomer or the narcistic juiced loser ? Most gyms figure that out and that it was the reason why they were losing money... people are not atracted to gym in numbers high enough for the survival of the business itself. So let's make it cheap, cater to absolutely everyone, so even if it s cheap the massive amount of people suscribing will compensate. Actually it's a great move, and many of the average joes who are not scared anymore might after some time stick to it and finally progress. Most gyms are working against their customers when the staff itself despise the people who come there hoping someone will teach them how to get in shape.
Im more disgusted by meatheads than by someone who decided to better him/herself whatever her /his intial shape while joining.

in reverse i think hardcore gyms should ban idiots.. people who come to do one arm cable arm curls and talk on their cells with the free arm
if i ever opened a gym none of these people could attend there would be a barbell with 405 outside the gym... cant deadlift it... join a fitness gym
choice is an illusion

?

Now they can change name of the corporation to ""Planet Faggness", and transformation is complete. I bet they sell more Vaseline than all other gyms combined.

Why join this place if you lift heavy?  Isn't it as obvious as mud that you're not welcome there?

Unless they are the only gym in town?

Wow, does Planet Fitness amazes us anymore these days?.......their typical clients will have no problem with any policy what soever. I bet you if they remove all the dumbbells and bench stations, everyone there will be just fine with that
