Been ramping up training a bit - feel great - after September - october - ill get serious about finding a show to do 3-4 months out. 

 



I was in gym 6 am.   I got an event this weekend and 2 GORUCK events for 9/11 in 2 weeks.   Training my ass off.  But mentally - im already all into this 12-16 week diet down for one last show. 

Gonna look for one with a 40-50 age bracket and enter overall and masters and do my best. 

Excited.  Feel better now than I ever did in my 20's

Honestly, I am surprised you are over 40. You looked much younger than that when you were enjoying your "fifteen minutes of fame" awhile back.

Started Tora yesterday.  I think this week establishes baselines then it gets fun.

3 sets warmup:
90/90 breathing
Elevated lunge x 8
Multi-directional lunge

Back squat - build to 5 RM of 85% of 5RM

4 sets:
Strict pull up
Weighted sit up x 20

10 min AMARP:
10 burpee
10 box jump

I did 133 reps.....leaderboard guys did 200......

5 min 90/90 breathing

Stretch.....yes, actually did it.

I finally got a decent hike in today for the first time in about a year. Rucksack was only about 30lbs, and the hill a little over 500 m in height. It was close to seven miles both ways and I ended up running the entire way back down. I planned on taking it easy but I was surprised with how strong I felt on it. I hope I can make this more of a regular thing.

What's crazy is that at 42 I'm going into a 12 week diet down in better shape than I ever was at 25 - just curious to see what happens - I think I'll end up around 175-180

I feel frigging great right now.  I actually dont want to change my training much - but need a lot of work on chest detail.

3 sets
90/90 breathing - this phase seems to be all about controlling breathing
KB hip hinge 5-8
Suitcase DL x 5-8

DL: 2 x 5 at 85% of 5 rep max

4 sets
one arm KB squat x 8 (per leg)
one arm DB row x 8

4 sets:
BB overhead carry x 50 feet
Farmers walk x 50 feet
Sled pull x 50 feet
Sandbag throw 50 feet per side
superman hold x 30 sec  - actually did this at my house vs gym since it was better equipped for it

5 min slow run controlling breathing tempo


Today:

90/90 breathing x 3

Rower - 3 sets
30 sec arms only
30 sec legs only
1 min normal
control breathing

Rower 3 sets:
20 set max effort
1 min 80 effort

Rower:
10 min max effort

50 ft KB waiter's walk

Establish  2 x 5 on 85% of 5 rep max on push press

4 sets:
6 Turkish get ups per side
1 leg landmine RDL x 8

3 sets - fast as possible
20 cal on row
15 wall ball
10 power clean.....this was hard.

Nice - tapering sort of - have a C - L this weekend,   then full bore training for this show in whenever. 

Feel awesome.  I'm better now at 42 no dieting than I was at like 3-4 weeks out when I was 25.
