yes i agree. I remember in pumping Iron, (a special featurette-Iron and beyond i think) Robby comes over to Arnold's bachelor pad for a party and Arnold addresses him as "the main man", "mr. world" so they were friends then im guessing.

BTW don't think he has "black man's insanity" as there is no such thing - but this kat is a Vietnam vet and according to an article that was in one of the mags back in 94 (or 95 when ever he won the Master's) he claimed that during a morter ambush the NVC fucked them up real bad and he had to play dead while they came and checked for survivors - he said that he was even stabbed with a baonette by a NVC checking the dead. So he claimed that coming back and putting a shit load of energy into bbing took some that nam shit outta his head.

bottom line Robby should act like a champion, he is a hall of famer, one of the greats from the golden age. there will always be haters, he should pull the stick out of his ass and see that despite his colour, shape, voice, hair, smell whatever, he was great and worked hard to display an incredable physique.

First of all, Schwarzenegger was openly racist to Robinson on numerous occasions, with others around, including a situation in which Robinson wanted to be paid a wage for appearing in Pumping Iron. Reasonable but not well-received by Schwarzenegger.
Secondly, Schwarzenegger did in fact molest Robinson's then-wife while she was sitting on a bench at Gold's.
Third, he did in fact deserve and was expecting to win at least 1-2 Olympias. Mainly due to politics that didn't happen.
While none of this justifies his eccentricities, it helps explain them.

Two very reliable industry sources told me they think he is unstable - off the record. So I will not say who they were, but I will be the third to agree with that notion. I think he is suffering from a sort of "black man's insanity" due to years of racism.
It is really unfortunate that he has been dealt the race card like this BUT I think he is fast becoming his own worst enemy.

Robbie Robinson has been a legend in the sport of bodybuilding for over 25 years. He was there during Arnold's reign, he was there during Haney's reign and he was there during Dorian's reign. And he wasn't just there during these 25 years he was COMPETING!! Remember the inaugural Arnold Classic....Robbie Robinson lost a very close decision to Rich Gaspari and most people felt the show was rightfully Robbies. In the 1990's Robbie captured the first Masters Olympia--a show designed specifically for Lou Ferrigno to win no less. In the latter part of the 1990's Robbie seemed to slow down and it seemed as though the Black Prince was done with the sport. Still competing at the Masters Olympia, Robbie just didn't look the same and each year for the past 3 years it looked like the fire was gone and the show was automatically Vince Taylor's, with Robbie fading into obscurity.
A few months ago Robbie Robinson started having me consult with him on getting back into top form and into the swing of things again. I made some drastic changes to his regime and then I did not see him for a few months. He called me up 7 weeks ago asking me to come take a look at him and make any corrections I see fit to help his quest to re-capture the Masters Olympia title. No small feat considering Robbie had just turned 54 years old.....That's right 54. I told Robbie that I thought he could shock the world if along with taking my advice he trained in the style I train in and advocate.....Beyond Failure Training. Robbie was game for anything it seemed---little did he know what lie ahead.
Over the next 7 weeks I trained Robbie 4 times per week and each session lasting 25-30 minutes tops (trust me Robbie will tell you it was too much) What happened was one of the most amazing transformations I have ever seen. Not only did Robbie re-gain his top form of all time...he surpassed it. His once shallow chest was now thick and round, his triceps were bigger and fuller than ever, his back was at it's all time widest, and the most shocking improvement were his legs. Once a horrible weakness, Robbie's legs were now separated, vascular columns complete with outer sweep and hamstrings for the first time in his entire life. As of today Robbie is leaving to fly to the Masters Olympia in Roanoke Virginia, to be held in conjunction with the Jan-Tana. I felt it was important to let the world see what can be achieved with the right information, the right guidance and the will to always learn and improve. Most professionals have terrible attitudes and have a hard time excepting the fact that someone who is not yet themselves a pro could help them out in any way....they think they know it all. Not Robbie Robinson.
And now without further adieu here is the 2000 version of Robbie Robinson.

Of course he did. ::) I'm absolutely positive he was better than his 1977 NOC condition. Bigger, tighter, better vascularity, etc. Hell, we're all better athletes at 54 years old than at 25. :( He was in good shape but come on... how about some sort of reality check.

I don't know about that Matt, Robby seems pretty in control of his senses. He treats people great over at his site. He always answers any and all questions thrown at him.

Robby's best condition was 2-3 years after the filming of the movie; he was bigger as well as in better condition.

In my experience, Robby was always very laid back, quick to smile and soft spoken. Could he be intense? Yes, but never in a confrontational sort of way, just pasionate about his beliefs.

Many of you people are too young to know that Robby served in Viet Nam, and suffered terribly from post traumatic stress disorder among other things upon his return. Robby has fought alot of demons over the years. He was a misunderstood guy. I witnessed him compete on several occasions, and it is ashame he is not Mr. Olympia. His arms were bigger than Zane's legs! Too see him in shape was numbing, his waist was sooo small and he OWNS the front double bicep to this day.

Robby in the pic where he older is great. And you say he wouldn't beat Chic or Rusty with that body but that body is not contest shape and pretty sure he isn't training for a contest. If he decided to train for the Masters he would come in allot bigger than that and then he would be in the top 2 if not the winner

Yep this is what I was saying - there was a good article about him back in 94 where he talked openly about some of his war experiences - I remeber because I did a report on it in a high school lit class.

Trevor smith's stuff is pretty damn cool to read, I don't care how full of shit some of you guys think he was, his techniques sound pretty damn cool to me, I'd love to try his BFT training....

No.....if a black man calls another black man guy its cool. If a white man calls a black man guy its not because of the meaning behind it from each race. I dont know if whites call other whites rednecks or honkey's but if they do i would imagine it would be ok because its white on white. If it were a black man callin another white man honkey it would be racist.

I am going to agree with TWB here. Robby at the NOC ( was it 78 Tom? ) was at his peak. There is a pic in an old M & F ( they are covering the contest ) that shows Robby back on . . . he blows the mind. Just the suggestion that Robbie never had leg biceps is foolish, because it was at that show and in the mentioned pic, that Robby set the standard for ham's.
That article was a promotion for Smith's training methods and nothing else.

Probably, but on the other hand he was fully cognizant of Schwarzenegger's position in the Weider constellation, and what a confrontation might've done to his standing and magazine publicity:
The earliest incident of the six described to The Times was said to have occurred in 1975 at Gold's Gym near Venice Beach. E. Laine Stockton, then newly married to professional bodybuilder Robby Robinson, said she had gone to the gym to watch her husband work out.
Stockton was 19 at the time. She said she was wearing slacks, tennis shoes and a loose-fitting T-shirt. She said she was not wearing a bra.
As she sat on an exercise bench, Stockton said, Schwarzenegger walked up behind her, reached under her T-shirt and touched her bare left breast.
"The gym is full of bodybuilders and Arnold comes and he gropes my breast — actually touches my breast with his left hand," she said.
She said Schwarzenegger then walked away without saying a word.
Stockton said she does not rule out that Schwarzenegger "may have meant it in playfulness." But she did not take it that way.
"I was just shocked, shocked to the point where I almost didn't know how to react, because it was so out of the blue and so unexpected," she said. "It just completely caught me off guard, and when I finally came to my senses, I immediately went over to Robby and I said, 'Look, Arnold just groped my breast.' "
Robinson, a former Mr. America, Mr. World and Mr. Universe, said he "tried to comfort her."
Robinson has since had a falling out with Schwarzenegger. An African American known as the "Black Prince" during his years on the professional bodybuilding circuit, Robinson has accused Schwarzenegger of racism — a charge that Schwarzenegger's campaign denies.
Robinson said he was upset by what Schwarzenegger had done to his wife, but did not confront him. "What he did was uncalled for, but I couldn't say nothing," Robinson said, explaining that he feared he'd be ostracized by the bodybuilding world.
He said he told his wife to stay out of Gold's Gym.

BLACK BODYBUILDER CLAIMS SCHWARZENEGGER RACIST COMMENTS
Robby Robinson, one of the most respected and well known of all body builders [a former Mr. America, Mr. World and Mr. Universe titleholder], backs up claims made by fellow black bodybuilder Rick Wayne.
"No disrespect to fans of Arnold but Rick's claim is in keeping with my experiences with the man," Robinson explains in a message.
"In San Jose at the Russ Warner Classic, as it was called in those days, there was a scene. 7 or 8 of us bodybuilders were invited to guest pose at the show. We were all paid $650.00 to do our thing.
"After the show there was a big banquet. We were all dancing having a nice time and in walks Arnold who started shouting out, 'Down with the blacks, blacks this and blacks that,' for about 10 min.
"All during this time nobody said a word.
"The banquet hall was full of IFFB [International Federation of BodyBuilders] officals. There was a dead silence. You could've heard a pin fall. Everybody in the room was shocked except for me.
"All of his hostility and rage was directed at me. For once he got caught out of shape and I was in contest condition. Me being in great shape put him in a bad light and a bad attitude.
"In my mind I wanted to bust him up. But that would not have done any good. So with all my intensity bottled inside me I walked out of the room. I'm walking out as he was still in his mode of, down with the blacks, when the silence was broken by Joe Weider's voice telling Arnold to stop. That did no good. He was on a roll by now. I left the banquet and went to my room.
"His actions were cowardly and disrespectful. That's why Rick Wayne is speaking out.
"During Pumping Iron more racial slurs were directed at me because I walked out of his house refusing to be involved in the movie if we did not get paid something. We ended up getting $100.00 a day but not before more racial slurs of Black-Black were leveled at me for speaking up for myself and the rest of the guys.
"What the fans and media don't know is we all then signed $10,000.00 contracts with White Mountain Film Company and Arnold. To this day Arnold has not paid us a dime. I wonder what the value of that contact would be today. BB [body building] has a dark past, it's a tragedy. The Weiders and Arnold have to deal with their ghosts being uncovered."
