he looks as freaky as i've ever seen anyone look in a teeshirt.

unfortunately the o is not a teeshirt contest.

btw, those are fake plates.

not saying ronnie couldn't curl the real thing, but those are very obviously fake plates used for the photo.

they do that sort of thing in photo shoots.

lesson over for today kiddies.

I couldn't possibly agree more, WTF were the judges thinking?
They wanted change just for the sake of change. If they wanted to got the "symmetry" route give the title to Dex or Victor but Jay is BLOCKY as hell. What was the point?

Yeah,Jay has strange body. If average BBer go down his body fat until Cutlers level,he would be vascular as hell.
Jay is less vascular than normal amateur bber.

ive been around the scene for a while now and am yet to see a ''fake plate''.

why would people go to the trouble of making these things, weathering them, carrying them around in all sorts of quantities and sizes...

can someone here at GB take some pics of some fake plates?

maybe some small guy standing there holding a fake 200lb at arms length or something...

Fake plates with the paint deliberately worn off? Another ridiculous conspiracy theory hahahaahahahh

If they wanted to fake it the easier way would be to rest both ends on something-the pic conveniently doesn't show the bottom of the plates on either end.

i hate to agree but yeah, i would think it to be unwise to get that intense after being that depleted 24hrs earlier.  but on the other hand, maybe ronnie warms up with that damn weight.  isn't he doing "315" in his commercial with Triple H?

they are fake plates and it's not a conspiracy theory.

ever see a very old photo of mike christian with a group from golds gym standing on one end holding out a few 45lb plates like he's a waiter serving a plate? from memory, lyle alzado and pete grymkowski (spelling?) were also in the photo along with the usual suspects from that time. i was only a kid then and i remember thinking wtf? i got a little wiser as i grew into adulthood and yes, i did witness fake plates in the flesh. :o

that is the best photographic example i can give of some fake plates being held up. of course one could simply open up a copy of flex magazine and check the ridiculous plates being hoisted on exercise bars by bodybuilders in perfect form that powerlifters wouldn't dream of, but sadly guys like pumpster would just believe those guys lifted those weights in that condition.

fake plates have been around for a very long time and they are obviously mostly used for photo shoots.

The plates are real but I only saw him do 3 25s a side. From what I could see they used plates from the gym.  The pictures were taken at Gold's gym on Flamingo the day after the Olympia.  They had hired guys to hand him the bar and take it away from him when he was done.  They were 25's, and he stared with 2 per side.  He curled it half way up and held it there and the photographer had to tell him to look more intense because the wasn't even the slightest bit of effort showing on his face.  Then they added another 25 per side to make it 3.  He posed for a few pictures and when he was done the guy wasn't there to take the bar so Ronnie just let it fall to the floor.  There was a big crash, not the crash that fake weights would make.

what the fuck are you guys talking about?

this is Ronnie here, I am sure that you guys have seen his training films...when it comes to lifting weights Ronnie has a huge ego. It would have been safer/avisable to use fake plates, but I get the sense that he is not the kind of guy

and besides all things considering, that weight is not that impressive for him.

well, of course, there is a big difference between 3 25s per side and 4 35s per side.

3 25s ronnie could hold a half curl with relative ease.
