Post by: NoCalBbEr on November 01, 2006, 05:40:03 PM
hey guys
Do I need to  hit the lower back with  back extensions or hyperextensions for lower back?? I also do deadlifts as a core movement of my back day.. I was thinking about doing another row movement in place of it.

this is my back routine

deads
reverse pull downs
bb rows
DB rows
chins

what do you guys think??

Concur...

you can alternate between regular deads and stiff leg deadlifts if you please.

As a guy who has had to deal with two herinated disks in his lower back I have found that in warm up's for back day a couple of sets of hypers or light weight good mornings are a great way to get the blood flowing and for me because of my issues I do them every workout just to warm the area even if I am doing chest or shoulders or whatever. I have found that if I slack off then I get more issues. It may be mental but it works for me.

don't ever neglect a certain body part for this or that reason....you'll end up paying for it down the road..especially if the muscle group in question IS the lower back! yeesh...
