I was reading Picsman's board and found a note about the WBBG.  Apparently, they're going to host shows in New England next year.

No, that's Dan Lurie (http://danlurie.com).  Dan came in 2nd in the Mr America contest 3 years in a row, also was Most Muscular same three years (42-44).   Dan was Lou's mentor until Lou hit the big time and switched to Weider.  Dan felt very betrayed.

I sensed a lot of betrayal in perusing that World Bodybuilding Guild website earlier today.

Is the WBBG planning to be a 'natural' federation?  (or do you have any info about it at all)

Doug Going convinced Dan to allow him to use the WBBG name.  He wants to create a drug free organization (it's not a federation!!!) but it didn't seem to me that he knew anything about what already was out there.  He didn't know the basics about existing drug tested orgs, what was working for them, what wasn't.   I asked him what was he going to offer that isn't already out there, and how was he going to avoid or solve the problems these orgs are facing.  He had no answers.
