How did I know that you were going to post Bruce Lee. And yes, Fedor by death.
-
Mark Kerr in his prime, i dont think Fedor has ever fought anyone of that caliber all in. Would be one hell of a fight

Let me see.....Fujita beat Kerr when he was near the top of his game. Fedor punked Herring, made Big Nog look human, beat current K1 champ Semmy Schlit, Coleman 2X, Randleman, Mirko. That isn't any real competition....
By contrast this is Kerr's record.

Win Paul Varelans TKO (Strikes) WVC 3-World Vale Tudo Championship 3 1/19/1997 1 2:06
His biggest wins were against Fabio Gurgel, Hugo Duarte (whom Tank destroyed), an overmatched Enson. But he lost to Fujita, and Herring who are common opponents. Fedor is MUCH BETTER than Kerr. And in fact is the most influential martial artist this century. He is well rounded, and athletically superior to all others.
-
i take it you havent seen the smashing machine? Saying that with your ignorance you probably have. Between 97-99 Kerr was untouchable. He was committed to fighting and he hadnt sunk to the depths of despair he did when that bitch sunk her claws in as deep as she could.
When he first trained with Bas he was the best fighter in the world, when he lost the passion and let the drugs take hold he became a no mark. He doesnt have the heart for it anymore, but im talking about when you had him at his best. Im talking about when you could kick to the face, use your head, basically anything goes. He had no remorse or hesitation and would smash you through the floor to win. Kerr certainly had the power to make an impression on Fedor, it could have been one of the defining fights in MMA
But remember, this is all theoretical
-
I have, I saw it when it was originally released. I even have all of his ADCC fights. This is when he was at the top of his game. But...Kerr never fought top competition. Igor beat him TWICE. This was during his "Specimen" days. The same Igor that Coleman beat in the 2000 GP. The same Igor that Mirko KOed. I have actually trained at BHJJC with Master Vinicius. Kerr was tough, but not in the same league as Fedor. Fedor has and is beating the top competition of HIS day. Something that Kerr didn't do.
-
lol ... kerr was untouchable till he ran into top level comptition then he was a bitch
you normally know your shit schmoe, but you are so far off its laughable on this!
fedor by a landslide

-
Fedor. Judo olympic medalist, world sambo champ, and more.
-
In true Vale Tudo, Kerr was tough in his prime, but no one touches Fedor...
-
Obviously Fedor
In the lighter divs, GSP seems way better than anyone his weight and, at 26, he's just hitting his prime.
-
Rickson Gracie i would say...best martial artis, with greatest history...(Not the best MMa fighter...)
-
When Igor beat him you could see he wasnt mentally tough enough to be fighting him. Remember, Igor was touted as one of the best fighters in the world back then and Kerr just didnt have the stability or the drive to take him on. Hes gone downhill from around 99 and will never get back what he had. When we see Fedor hit top gear he will eclipse anything we have seen in the fight game
-
in mma, mark kerr could have been everything fedor is now(maybe more)..drugs(especially opiate addiction) will suck the life out of anyone(and mark was a bigtime junky)..if fedor started booting dope like kerr was(is), we would see the same decline from him(and you all would be talking the same shit about him)..
as far as martial artists, bruce lee was the all time best(pound for pound)..

First time Kerr fought Igor Sept 1999. He was undefeated, and riding a high of publicity. The problem is he never fought anyone outside of Hugo Duarte, Pedro Octavio, and Fabio Gurgel. In his fight with Gurgel, he was able to use headbutts. He was a great wrestler with decent standup skills, decent jits skills. Fedor is able to beat strikers in the striking range (Mirko), wrestlers by sub, AND he has fought the top competition of his day. No comparision. I could compare the 2006 Steelers to the Pats, IF BEN didn't ride a bike, didn't have to get an emergency apendectomy, didn't get another concussion, if Troy didn't get another concussion......

No way Fedor would have mauled him too.
Whtaever goes in front of him gets beat simple as!

That's a good question.

it is a good question and arguements could be made for a few fighters.
I'll have a think, but I am sure it will end in a disagreement! lol

I'm still thinking ;D

I'm still thinking ;D
hahaha, me too. Can't really decide who should be #2 from the group I'm thinking of. Leaning towards Wandy to be honest but I'm probably forgetting some people I can't think of right now. :o
-
Big Nog. He was unbeatable until Fedor. Best mma jits in the game.
-
Second best?
Bas Rutten maybe.
-
Bas Rutten is my all time favorite fighter..of coarse as a true Bas fan, i overlook the fight he had with Frank Lobman..
-
How about when Ken subbed him with one of the silkiest moves youll ever see ;D

You think you can find it on youtube? I just got in to MMA and this shit is awsome. This dude that fights works in the same building as me...Mark hammer Selbee. Not sure if you have heard of him. He was supposed to be hot shit in kick boxing in like 04-05
-
ive posted it on here several times, ill do it later unless im beaten to it. Im working til 9pm so cant do it for a few hours
-
BTW Mark Selbee, if its the right one, is a fucking awesome kickboxer. As far as i know hes unbeaten and hes a fucking giant

Yeah thats my hommie. He has a mortgage company in atlanta. He had a fight in Vegas a few months back. He thought i should get into it but i dont have the build for it. he said he would train me for free. Dude is like atleast 6'4. He isnt real buff but he has some long ass legs and arms.
-

get him posting on here!!!
Cool ill see if i can catch him on monday. he is the coolest guy ever
-
yea,he a bad MF..would be great if you get him to stop by on the forums
-
Bas claims he was submitted by Ken before he started training much if at all in submissions. He was basically a skilled striker before that fight, and afterward he stopped training standup for a while and focused on submissions.
-
Bas definitely wasn't skilled on the ground when Ken beat him(that is why i overlook thoses loses also)..i wish Bas was a few years younger, he no doubt would be a champ again..
-
I read what I think was a recent interview and he said he still wants to fight Ken as that was his only loss he didn't avenge. I don't think he had the size to be second best of all time though.
-
he would kill Ken right now
-
he would kill Ken right now
I don't think his body would hold up to the training.
-
Bas? His comeback was successful enough, Ken has nothing left to offer as an MMA fighter
-
Bas got hurt training for Kimo, was hurt after the fight with Warpath. I don't think his body could hold up to the training.
-
But look at Ken. What im saying is that he could still get in good enough shape to beat him as Ken can offer nothing back. Hes done
-
of coarse he would murder ken now..anyone know if Bas had the surgery he needed(think it was for his knee)
-
Cool ill see if i can catch him on monday. he is the coolest guy ever
does he smell nice too ?
-

My Sensei's, Sensei Ed Parker is 2000 inductee

-

I talked to mark today and he looked at the site today while i was on the phone with him. Im going to train with him next week. He owns a gym here in at too...called Knuckle up Fitness. They train people in all that.

Marco Ruas.
The man was a beast in his prime. A shame he was over the hill when Pride and Vale Tudo got really big.
Highlight reel (has some pieces of that fight against Taktarov in WVTC II):
Ruas had both Muay Thai and BJJ background, check the brutal Thai low kick ownage @ 2:39 ;D
Here's the a bigger clip of that fight, great low kicks:
