dennis pressing 220kg (485lbs) in his last set
-
That video will be like a lamb to the getbig.com slaughter. :P
-
He is weaker than his look.

are you crazy?have you seen his videos?....you don't know shit about bodybuilding.

Yes I have seen it. But He looks huge enough to do more reps.

He is weaker than his look.
yeah 485 pound incline presses is very weak. ::)

Kevin can do it more and Ronnie also.

hahahahaha, no they can't, Ronnie did a very hard 7 reps with 405 on the incline in his offseason video and he got a spot on two reps for a total of nine and Kevin did a hard 6 with 405 on MM3, that's nowhere near 485 for 3.

Agree. This puts him in the 99.9999th strength percentile and yet they bitch.

Are you talking about "cost of redemption"? I remembered that he did it with 5 plates each side...Wrong?
I am gonna see it again....

on COR he did 4 reps on his own with 5 plates on FLAT BENCH, and 7 on his own with 405 on the incline.

Oh sorry.
-
well if you consider ronnies 5th rep assited then what are DJ's 3 assited? dude had his hand on the bar the whole time. the guy can at least pull 100 pounds with one hand and make that shit alot easier. id be more impressed with hands off the bar pressing

you obviously haven't ever trained if you think that guy was taking 100 pounds off the bar, hahahahahaa, you skinny clown.

its true 100lbs is exagerate.
-
no its not if you two cant pull 100 pounds up with one arm then i feel sorry for you. if you cant easily row 100 pounds for 20-25 reps then your weak sorry. theres no man a grown man cant easily pull 100 pounds with momentum coming from the bottom as well, making it lighter. you should first learn about physics, then go to the gym to try this experiment for yourself

but i dont think these spotters pull with 100lbs power. mostly my wife spot me and jay cutler also spotted by his wife.
My wife spott me even i do heavy squat. So the wife of jay does it too.
-
i never said he was pulling 100 pounds i said he COULD be or CAN, to make the point that when theres hands on the bar the lift shoud not be counted plain and simple. he discredited ronnies 5th rep for that reason, why count DJ's?. does the mighty squadfather have an ability to decipher how much weight a spotter is lifting? he decided that ronnies 5th rep never counted(hence brian is lifting 500 pounds) but no help was givin to DJ, doesnt make sense to me. i think i sense a mid life man crush.

Thats why i said good post. But 100lbs is bit exagerate.

oh i agree it is, i just said it to make a point. but its not impossible for a grown man or disabled fatty.

1000 % agree.... if somone tousches ur bar means u coulcnt do it urself...
or else why would he be touching the bar....
touch my bar after ive reached failure....
not from the first rep
ego training

exactly, look at the spotter carefully, at best he was giving a boost at the top half of the last rep. personally if i'm on an incline bench and i have 485 pounds over my face i want the guy right on the bar in case anything goes terribly wrong. dj's a freak.

i agree, but squadfather is claiming to have telepathic powers that can detect that ronnies lift when someones hands were on the bar doesnt count(brian was lifting) and DJ's spotter wasnt lifting even though both had there hands on the bar.
-
Another joke lift. Why do these pros pretend to lift more than they really can. It's amazing. They really market themselves to people who don't know anything about lifting. I am more impressed with the guy doing the heavy one arm rows. He is doing the hardest work there. Lets see him do that with NO spotter just 2 times maybe even just once.

exactly
if you can do it why does the spotter need to touch the bar until u need ... it which should be after failure so essentially he failed from the first rep which indicates he cant push it by himself
-
i was there, so donīt talk shit! the guy behind is noel, he didnīt help dennis at all.
but ok, itīs getbig... he did the whole lift by his own, dennis did nothing :'( ;D
-
give dennis a message, tell him i wont be satisfied until he does it with nobody around and at a high altitude.

The spotters name is "Noel Senftleber". 2-3 years back he was a Top-Amateur in Germany, but to many injuries
ended his BB-Career.
I also know the gym where they train (between Mannheim and Heidelberg, in Germany). Training that heavy without a spotter is riskfull. So, if you feel a pain while training the partner can immediatly replace the bar, that can prevent serious injuries like ruptures, etc... But i also think that a spotters job is not to do a 2nd exercise, and should help only
a minimum.

Thank you. Could not have put it any better.
-
TOTAL EGO BULLSHIT,HIS SPOTTER WAS HELPING ON REP 1,IN MY BOOK IF SOMEONE TOUCHES THE BAR YOU DID NOT DO THE REP.HE SHOULD USE 100LBS. LESS AND JUST TAKE A LIFT OFF AND HIS SPOTTER JUST WATCH ,NOT WORKOUT HIS ARMS.
-
look at the way he holds the bar, doesn't he worry about it landing on his chest?
-

yes, i'm sure dennis is going to want to risk a serious injury just to impress you. ::)

Serious injury? According to you some others he did that what 5 or 6 times. That would make it fairly easy for him. So doing 2 reps with NO spotter should be a cakewalk. He can't do it, it's that simple. A pure "ego set" like someone else said. It sells tape to people who believe it.

do you know anything about assisted lifts...Its about keeping the weight moving...DJ would have got stuck just doing one rep...He probably could have got it up but thats about it..
The fact that this thing is video taped(with hands on the bar) shows you that he can't touch that weight...Lets see DJ do 405 for 10 good reps with a spotter nowhere in sight.. That would be impressive...

let me guess,
you know 40 hawaiians that could easily do that with no spotter for 20 reps.
::)

Very true if it was just for safety the spotter could have just kept his hands close to the bar. WTF was the spotter gonna do anyhow if some thing went "terribly wrong" anyhow with one hand on the bar? Pull it off with one arm? And to the goons who said he is helping just 10lbs or so you are very naive and gullible.
-
lower the weight and do 425- 455 correctly instead
-
I know someone that visited Thailand and trained with Dennis a few years ago. Spotted him doing incline bench... 6 plates for 2 reps. Dennis has a crazy upper chest so I dont think its out of reach.
Also Dennis does this exercise first most of the time.. Ronnie did Flat bench before incline in his video.
Nothing wrong with having your hands on the bar, on a really heavy set IMO, I'd rather that than an injury, eg: See Dorians Incline Bench in Blood and Guts

superstar never said that he was only helping 10 pounds just that 20 pounds was the absolute max ANY spotter could possibly help.

I hope DJ saw this thread!

i highy, highly, highly doubt that Dennis inclined 585 for 2 reps, he's strong but not THAT strong.

400 of course. They come out of the womb benching 225 for reps.

Not 40 but at least 10.

Tothe guys who say the guy is there to help prevent injuries. WHat injuries. DO you mean if he slipped and the bar came crashing down. Well I gotta tell ya, one guy with one hand on a bar with 485 pounds ain't gonna do shit if that happens. Is there there is case James can't do a rep. Well if can't do a rep he shoudl at least be able to hold the weight long enough for the spotter to come in and help. And the funny thing about this so called spotter is the way he is helping so much he has to go up and down. That right there tells you he is helping allot. If he wasn't then he wold just be holding and going down with the bar. But this guy is going so far up and down with his legs its funny. Like I said shwo a video of him doing that weight for just 2 reps with no one in sight. Should be easy as hell if you say he did it this time.
-
He is weaker than his look.
I can bet you can do so many more.. ::)
-
He's a bodybuilder...who gives a f**k about how much he can lift?
Last time I checked...there wasn't a "bench round" at the Olympia.
BTW...not for nothing, but isnt he using 405? The video is a little dark..but if those are 45 lb. plates..I count 4 on ea. side.

Congrats Bob on the baby. And if that was only 405 and that guy was helping like that then that is even worse. And I agree with Bob. I don't see why so many people rag on BB's and the weight they use. Who cares how strong they are. They are getting paid or competiting to show off there bodies not how strong they are. Justlike powerlifters are competiting to see who is the strongest who cares what they look like. Same with MMA fighters who cares what their bodies look like. If a fat guy can beat the guy in great shape then he is a better fighter, who cares what he looks like. God I hate agreeing with Chic. But I love it too
-
Thanks Keith...!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...but I swear it's 405. Still impressive.
I hate these "not very strong..." arguments. Irrelevant either way...but we don't know if he's at the end of his workout...dieted down, his 6th set...etc.
-

Dennis is very, very strong especially on pressing movements, those plates might be the same ones he used in his Back to Basics video that are really thin 45 pound plates, he did 5 on each side in Back to Basics for 3 reps.
-
Well...if there are 5...then it's 495.
-
Well...if there are 5...then it's 495.
yeah i think it was, that clip isn't of Back to Basics but i think the plates are similar, those were the craziest looking plates i've ever seen, they were like a half inch thick, plus he had that crazy ass training partner growling at him and barking like a dog, that guy is nuts.
-
they are 5 20 kg plates, so its 485.
-
monster not touching the chest with the bar

Well obviously Dennis cares about how much he lifts cause if he did not he would have went lighter. BTW I think the guy IS strong though and agree its not about the weight.

It looks like Dennis cares for why would he have someone record such a thing...I really don't think anyone gives a shit how much he benches. But when he puts it out their like this...Why not comment on it...By the way a bodybuilder that has to take close to a whole minute trying to sych himself up for a lift diff/cares about the weight he uses...I thought he was going to go into slapping himself on the face or something...
Hell everyone on this board thinks that Rusty was strong as hell in his video and the guy only got 315 for a few reps(granted he was super setting with pullovers) but hardly what anyone would call real strong for a guy using hormones to the max...
-

Why record such a thing? To film a DVD to sell...simple.
He wasn't "psyching himself up"...he was getting his breath and his bearings.

Thats what he said, and I he's not the sorta guy to make shit up. I believe it

again, i was there- it was filmed in heidelberg/germany--> 220kg...

If I did not know better, I would say that Bob is against heavy weight lifting or anything that challenges your strenght. So, Bob, how much you bench?. That's the most popular questions for anybody who look like they can press a ton of shit. There was a famous powerlifter who said that Bodybuilders are all muscles, and no strenght. Eventhough I did not agree with the statement, but sometime it proves the point. We are all assumed that looking like Hercules comes with a lot of strenght and power. and yes, I have yet to find a guy whose honest about his LIFTS and that goes mostly for Bodybuilders. and that's just my opinions
-
Bob has said before that he tore either his shoulder or pec benching 500 and he hasn't done a flat bench since, he's a pretty strong guy though, he did a bunch of reps with 5 plates on each side of the flat Hammer Strength bench and very deep reps with 125 pound dumbbells on the incline on War for the Worlds.
-
dennis pressing 220kg (485lbs) in his last set
it is 180 kgs, not 220 kgs..
-
Another weak bench presser
-
Kevin Levrone could do a little better...

people need to realize that, yes, while the guy could be pulling 100 pounds up, he obviously isn't. there is little to no exertion happening there and i would honestly say if he's helping on any rep but the last on is isn't until the bar is most of the way up, and even then it's a feather touch.
let's try this again with a different example:
lol what a pussy, the spotter was deadlifting like 600 pounds of that!!11111one ::)
-
Again, have you ever trained? Does that guy look like he is exerting himself like in a one-armed row? I feel sorry for YOU having such little common sense and retarded thoughts.
haha your a fucking dweeb, does the guy look like he's exerting himself? well lets look at the facts
1)i cant see his face, so your question is retarded
2)why would him bend his legs to not spot
3)he has his hand wrapped around the bar
4)his is bending at the waist with every rep
that is not common sense by the way you dumb shit, common sense is knowing your mother is older then her daughter, not how much some guy can spot on incline benchpress.
i would say based on the above facts, the ridiculous amount of weight, and the hand on the bar from the lift off, that yes he is in fact helping quite a bit.
any other complaints genius. work on the common sense.
-
Why record such a thing? To film a DVD to sell...simple.
He wasn't "psyching himself up"...he was getting his breath and his bearings.
i didn't realise that it was going on a DVD...Thought it was someone using a camera phone...No biggie
So you believe that he doesn't care about weight?
