It's easier to maintain weight then it is to gain. I could probably maintain my weight on a good 3 meals but if your looking to grow 5-6 is not crazy.

They Y board was completely scrambled and Broadstreet Removed. It used to be called the Mythbuster board when I was working with Migizi. He lost about 30 or so lbs in that time, and once it was scrambled, we lost contact.

I used to do it, it became too obsessive so i stopped. If you can do it, ok fine. But for me its totally impractical and over the top.
I try every 4 hours which is when I start to really feel empty and hungry
My dads like w*f are you doing, ur crazy. I realised in the end it was stupid. I used to eat the same foods over and over again until I realised its bullshit and made much more progress following my own route. I just made sure I got at least 200 grams of protein per day. Fortunately I didnt waste much time doing it and realised it wasn't a lifestyle, it was a stupid obsession. I think stuart mcroberts hit the nail on the head when he said;
"The first is MANY people think they are hardgainers, or naturally weak because they train and eat like shit. if you are jobless and all you do is train watch tv sleep and hormonizing yourself,,you will do fine with 3-4-5 meals a day,,,and grow easily with out as much calories since you dont waste much other than training and breathing,,,,
if you are a construction worker or your work involve moving a lot and stress.. that is also a bodybuilder,,,7-8 sometimes 9 meals a day will be needed,,simply due to the calories you burn every day due to you being super active,,,
the many meals a day thing is done mainly when dieting for competition,,,when every thing counts,,,that is where small portions and many meals a day will help tremendesly,,,diet is very clean and nutrition every 3 hours is a must wether youre jobless or not because the diet is clean and clean diet will make you hungry every couple hours especially when bodybuild and hormonized,,
always make sure you dont over eat,,,meaning eat till you feel nurished and thats it,,then you will be able to eat those many meals wether dieting or not,,,
offseason accuracy is less important because you will be able to compensate by eating bigger portions and more calories in one meal,,,but when dieting for competition you gotta eat specific portions and that is when number of meals matter depending on your daily activities as mentioned above,,again i am talkin 2000 here and not 1960s,,,today the bodybuilder is bigger in general,, and need more nutrition and thats where all this come into play,,,if you try to follow the 1960s routine of 2-3 meals a day you will indeed get big,,, but 200-220 big not 250 big,,,and thats where the nutrition and drug timing come into play.

your body doesnt give a shit if you drink your meals or eat them,,,it dont make a diff,,,you can drink 6 meals a day and look same as a guy who chew them,,,you wont enjoy your food as much and maybe lose some teeth due to inactivity ;) but! your body wont know the diff,,,
solid food only matters when dieting and wanting to get down to 4-6% foro cometition purposes,,,that is where liquid food usually makes you retain more water,,,and will hide your muscle definition,,,so you can be as muscular as the guy next to you...but you wont be able to see it as well when it come to cuts.
so when dieting for competition i recomend to eliminate protien shakes,,,and liquid meals,,,
when dieting/cutting to look good at 7% you can use couple liquid meals couple solid meals and you wil do fine

Thanks for the tips 15. I have a job but it uses very little energy and low stress. You are right the amount of food and frequency depends on the induvidual. Thanks also for the tips on the liquid meals close to a competition, do you think eliminating the shakes at 6 weeks out would be good, or longer? Right now Iam dieting for a competition (9 weeks out) and am eating small frequent clean meals, and am hungry every 2-3 hours. Maybe if you have the time you could look at and critiqe my plan listed below.
6:30am: meal #1, Coffee with equal, 60g oatmeal, 2 Tbls natural peanut butter, whey protien shake mixed with water.
9:30am meal #2, 1/2 medium size sweet potato, 1/2 Lb broiled chicken breast.
* sometimes here a small apple
12pm meal #3, same as meal #2 above.
* sometimes here small bannana
3:30pm meal #4, Shake with water and 2 tbls peanut butter
4:15pm Train/ 1/2 hr cardio, low intensity.
6:30pm meal #5 medium sweet potato, 12 oz beef or chicken
10pm meal #6 Shake with water, 1 tbls peanut butter.
Hormones: at 9 weeks out Monday 400mg test E, 250mg EQ, Friday the same.
At 8-7 weeks will do 200 mg test prop EOD, 250 EQ (mon, fri) winstrol tabs 50mg ED.
Currently using Letro. 3/4mg ED, will start clen at 8 weeks out and run it for 6 weeks ramping up to 100mcg ED split in 2 doses.
Right now Im about 200lbs at 5'7" tall my abs and serratus are in so im guessing my BF in the 7-8% range. When should I start to watch the sodium and water.

in different shifts, 10-12 hours shifts, early day, late-day, night, 2 days off....).

the 6+ meals is bullshit for most people..unless maybe you have a caloric expenditure of 10 000 calories....back in the old times workers who had very high caloric needs solved it by eating high fat meals.
But for a normal guy who sits in the office all day and who tries to add muscle the 6+ meals per day is bullshit
also, its has been proven that eating 1 or 6 meals per day IF the calories are the SAME has no difference.
eating one time per day is not recommended tho (for you exremists)as it has to be a huge meal and may put you to sleep lol..also bloodsugar is another factor...thats why eating 4-5 meals per day is the best for most people...but dont stress if you miss one meal...the eating every third hour is total bullshit..(scientific studies back this up) just eat alittle more during next meal...
so use common sense...eat a few hundred calories over daily need with enough protein (1-1.25 g protein/lb bw) to gain weight...spread over the number of meals you like...it can be 2 it can be 5 its up to you..(depending on how much calories you need per day, how often you get hungry, how often you want to eat etc etc)
also to the whores who say you get hungry every third hour...its because you have made your body used to eating every 3 hours you stupid FUCKS!! give it two weeks with less frequent meals (but still enough calories to gain muscle) and your body will adopt to it..and you will have time to do other things than to stand in the kitchen all day and obsess about meal frequency.
you can drink or eat the calories its up to you...but eating should be enjoyable in my opinion so eat real food then add liquid calories if you cant eat enough...its up to you....
as for competition diet: see what gh 15 wrote..very good post gh15
the 6 meals per day is bs from the supplement industry who want you to eat their gainers and shit (3 reg meals+3 shakes)...but now some people have taken it further...and try to eat 6 cooked meals per day which is fucking crazy (unless maybe when your on a competition diet..again see gh15 post.)

the food will gradually be absorbed...you can eat 100g of protein in the form of meat for example...and it will be absorbed over the course of several hours.

Yep, for me anything more than that and I'm just stuffing myself and shitting a lot; plus, when I train I don't like a lot of food in me. I've always had a problem with the 6-10 meals a day bullshit. The same idiots that prescribe to these methods are the same previously skinny punks who now have a 100% chemically sustainied bodies and gorge themselves 24/7.....all those "nutrients" aren't "absorbed into the cells" for the "sustaining and development of muscle mass". Yeah, some guys gotta eat more than others......quicker metabolisms, hardgainers......I get that, but extreme excess eventually equates to only more bodyfat and more shitting.

When I'm not dieting I can maintain my weight with 3 meals per day with non diet foods. When I diet though, and I try to get real lean by lowering my calories. I find eating every 3-5 hours easier on my appetite, and it actually helps me lose body fat a bit faster. But i'm sure this is different for almost everyone.

Eating smaller meals more often is superior in that for many, your appetite won't be as surpressed for as long as a massive meal. Plus, massive meals also tend to put me to sleep 8)

How many meals you eat a day has to do with how much muscle you have and how fast your metabolism
is...Me I have a fast metabolism.I eat 7 meals a day plus a shake sometimes in the middle of the night ...I do not know any top amatuers and pros that do not eat Protein atleast every 2-3 hours

This affects your general bodyfat/lean muscle ratio. This is especially important when in your last few weeks before a show. Your body is so depleted of fat and glycemic stores that you're always hungry. Since I'm, hypoglycemic, it's even more important to stay on a schedule. If you feed the body constantly it has no need to hold fat, it knows it's going to be fed. (TAKE NOTE!!!!) So hopefully with this information you can quit your unfounded attacks on the men and women who actually compete and win, for their eating habits. This only applies to those who actually work out and do cardio. If you sit on your fat ass all day and eat pizza and drink beer at night, I pray for you my brotha...

Okay SquatFeather,
I will answer this for you. Not that you'll ever need to know since you'll never compete and even place in a show, but I eat every 2 to 3 hours due to the fact that I want to keep my metabolism high. This affects your general bodyfat/lean muscle ratio. This is especially important when in your last few weeks before a show. Your body is so depleted of fat and glycemic stores that you're always hungry. Since I'm, hypoglycemic, it's even more important to stay on a schedule. If you feed the body constantly it has no need to hold fat, it knows it's going to be fed. (TAKE NOTE!!!!) So hopefully with this information you can quit your unfounded attacks on the men and women who actually compete and win, for their eating habits. bullshit: eating every 2-3 hour does not speed up your metabolism. and the part about feeding your body contantly so it hasnt any need to store fat is pseudo bb science crap. the important factor is enough calories for growth and enough protein for growth ( and alot of bodybuilders take in way too much protein...to grow its enough with 1-1.25g protein/lbs bw). so if you ate the same number of calories (with same ratios ofproteins fats carbs) spread over 4-5 meals instead of 8 meals you would have exactly the same results without having to be so obsessed as you obviously are. Also eating less frequent than every second hour doesnt mean that you drink beer all day, but for your narrowminded and obsessed brain its hard to comprehend. also i believe your hypoglycemia can be a result of your constant eating and maybe the insulin you probably use.

as i said before it all depends on what you do during a typical day and ofcourse like mentioned before your lean muscle mass held on your frame,,
the bigger you are muscle wize! the more you will need to eat to sustain this muscle!,,you simply will need more calories to maintain size and/or grow,,
now,,,yes.. you can diet using oxandrolone and other superior quality hormones and eat less and maintain your hard earned muscle mass while shedding fat,,but! it will get to a point where if you dont stay on spot with the diet DURING COMP PREP!! ,,you will start losing muscle mass no matter what hormone you are on! 16-20 weeks is a long long time my friends,,
hormones alone wont do the trick,,,it has to be combo of hormones and nutrition that include enough calories depeding on what your typical day look like..
if you are very active all day long higher calories is a must for progress worth writing home about,,,
if you sit on your ass all day long and do nothing but training and sleeping and thinking about your next big order,,,then you will do marverlous and be able to grow even on 2000-2500 calories a day (200lb bodybuilder)

Agreed buts that common sense though as well. In the summer when I work roofing I can easily eat 1.5 to 2 times the food I do in the winter.

roofers in Northern Canada making that much money isn't really a reality, what with winter for 6 to 7 months a year but in windsor I was on a 4 man crew doing 3 maybe 4 roofs a week for 8 maybe 9 months a year. Owning your business with no overhead and starting costs that include a few shovels, an air tank and nail gun and harnesses if roofjacks or harnesses if you're doing a 9 by 12 pitch or higher pitch roof, it is definitely good money if you can hack it.

I have roofed quite a bit...for free.(family members houses) and it sucks ass. Roofing isn't the brutal part...it's the tearing off of the old roof that sucks the most. :(...especially if there has been two or three layers.
