What's the one piece of advice that you would give a new trainer (that you think is all important)?
-
Eat.
-
Train with intensity, but never overtrain.
-
You gotta learn to walk before you try to run!
Ask lots of questions to guys who have been there and done that.... don't ask swiss ball using personal trainers!
-
as much as it's been said I'd say train heavy with the basics, don't worry about lateral raises and concentration curls, use big weight on the big movements. I'd also say protect you're lower back at all costs cause my back problems are haunting me almost everyday of my life.
-
Stimulate don't annihilate. Have balance in your life, it takes time and have a 5 year plan from the start.
-
Eat.
I agree. I've wasted a lot of time and potential gains by not eating enough. I was eating just enough that I wasn't gaining any muscle, or losing any fat, so my progress stalled for several months, just because I was afraid of gaining a little fat :-\
-
stay away from swiss balls!
-
Make sure to include the big three in your workouts.... and do cardio even in the off season
-
Use basic compound movements to gain along w/a good diet plan & definitely strive to achieve the "mind/muscle" connection for the bodypart that is being worked.
-
I agree with the cardio in the off-season. Even if it is just a little bit, makes you feel and look a lot better!

High-Intensity !!!!!--------the name of the game !
