Title: Arnold Classic will be only on webcast!
Post by: Colossus_1986 on February 19, 2007, 07:39:19 AM
can CHICK or anyone else confirm...

that the ASC will be on payperview?
a definite YES or NO answer would be appreciated.
If this upcoming webcast is gonna be slow and choppy like the olympia webcast, or have a retarded side view like the ironman with audio problems...i don't want to see it.
I just prefer the ol' big screen and couch as opposed to the desk and computer screen. money is not a problem, i'll pay to get a good clear show.

Dexter: "lol"

The webcast is a good idea. You don't want to take a chance on breaking the PPV record for lowest buyrate, currently held by "David Hasslehoff Live in Germany."

Just to clarify--

There is no PPV event available to purchase on TV?  Only the webcast?

yeah with wicked side camera shots during the ironman for a few endless minutes at a time. we really see the cheek and elbow development in these shots...outstanding  ::)
they better fix that crap for the arnold.

Webcasting is harder than you think, aside from all the computer techo, we then have to sinc-up with the house for the sound, etc.....much harder than t.v.

There are link up problems, signal problems, wifi, internet, etc.....THEN, people have to have a computer that supports getting it....you would be surprised to know that most people are still running on 56K...

With the success of YouTube, IMO, in the next couple of years, most everyone is gonna go to broadband. The future for webcasts looks bright.

There is no PPV this year for the Arnold. The UPC fight in Columbus about 4 blocks away is the same night, that will be on PPV.

Men's prejuding stats at 12pm Columbus time.
Men's Final's start at 7pm Columbus time.

so if it's so hard and complicated to set up (which i know it can be), why don't you put it on PPV? atleast there there's a fee for viewers and you can make some better profit aside from advertising...
i'd pay 19.99 or 24.99 whatever...you never get bandwith issues, quality issues, audio feed problems on PPV, i just think it's worth going that way and save headaches.

on olympia weekend i was ready to drive to Hardbody ent. head office and kill somebody with that lame excuse for an olympia broadcast.  ;D don't worry chic, i won't come to get you if the ASC broadcast is messed up! you've got Italiano blood in you like me!

I dont know anything gayer than actaully buying or purchasing a Bodybuilding event hahahah
That shit has the entertainment value of an amateur woman's golf tournament. I would rather practice reading the dictionary upside down. They need to make it more interesting like Poker.

There is no money in PPV.  The profits are very minimal or none at all for these type of events.  Very expensive to do PPV.  The webcast is a great idea actually.  Chic is it possible tohave a roaming camera on the webcast to do like the expo and other sites at the Arnold.  I liked the Arnold when I went.  It was great and allot of fun.  The expo is really neat.

the US is far behind other first world countries regarding broadband.  Japan's broadband is 10 times faster than our cable.

Chick, I don't know if you are in charge of the webcast or anything... personnally I think it looked very good at the Ironman !

I just think that they should always put the camera straight from the front and not switch the angles at all. I think it is useless

what's your opinion on that bob ?

thanks

Are you saying that there aren't enough homosexuals to support a PPV broadcast of the Arnold Classic?

Oh, there's plenty.  But now that Bob has gotten rid of the use of costumes, some of the gayness has been taken away.   I think if gays are allowed special tickets to backstage and be able to help put on Protan, allot of extra money can be made.

YES! I hate when they're showing a BB pose and he's doing a front lat spread and the camera view is from the side!! ??? Please tell them BB needs only a front view camera. (and don't zoom out to show a 1/4 inch tall BB on stage with the crowd in front of him. That does nothing for us)
