Post by: G on February 23, 2007, 02:16:44 PM
...I hope so. He is a descent fighter, but i can't stand the arrogant bastard...I thinnk Gomi will destroy him...eventhough Diaz is too big for that weight class

Going to be a good fight. I can see Diaz taking it unless Gomi steps the fuck up and fights like he's capable of fighting.

Gomi's only chance to beat Nick is to knock him out, the only problem, Diaz has a solid chin.  I think Nick is totally capable of pulling the upset off, and I think he will.

you would think that by moving down a class he would have the natural advantage. Gomi has a decent enough chance of winning, depending on the Diaz that shows up. If he wants to compete and is up for it, a'la Vs Robbie Lawler then he will win. If hes content to just let the fight elapse then i dont think he'll get the decision. Im hoping he wins tho, i have followed him since he KO'd Jeremy Jackson and touted him as the future of the sport. He's still got plenty to offer

I guess Diaz didnt get destroyed :)  I had a feeling he would win this.  Seems like Gomi doesnt fight as well when his belt isnt on the line.

They both suck. Gomi was done after ONE round, Diaz punches like a little girl.

Agreed.. but I expected Diaz to finish it on the ground anyways so I wasnt expecting a Gomi to be knocked out.  Put Gomi's belt on the line and see if he gasses :)

Nope, I was responding to the poster of this thread.  I knew Diaz had a good chance of pulling this off with either his reach or ground game.  I do have money on Couture vs. Silva tho... My money is on Randy becuase I just cant bid against the guy.

Gomi broke Diaz's orbital bone.

This is painful just to look at.

Gomi broke Diaz's orbital bone.

Well that is amazing that he carried on, that is supposed to be one of the most painful fuckers to break, look at Sapp rolling on the ground like a bitch after cro cop.

I did not expect this result but you have got to give major props for Diaz's heart and abilty.

His stand up was good although lacking a bit of power and his ground game was beautiful at the end!!

One of the best fights i've seen in a long time!!

I've read that Diaz's eye orbital was broke but I've also ready that his cheekbone was broke.  Diaz is definitely a gamer!

I thought Diaz was supposed to have fought, not Nino.  Helluva gogo!  And no, I don't think Diaz is a rubber guard advocate.
