I would say
1. ACC
2. Big 10
3. SEC
4. Pac 10
5. Big East
This is on average, rankings vary a bit on year

ACC is definitely the best... I don't follow much outside of it until March.

The Big East!

i used to follow the regular season very closely, but now with all the freshman and sophmores jumping to the draft there is just too much player turn over to hold my attention.
i have no clue who is the strongest conference this year or even half the teams in the top10, but historically you'd have to go with the ACC...the Big East had it's days too
-
Top-to-bottom, ACC is generally the best conference every year.
BUT, this season, I don't see any of the top teams being as good as Kansas or Florida. I know a lot of people are high on Ohio St and I agree that Greg Oden is a beast, but the cupcake Big Ten did not adequately prepare this team for the NCAAs.

Big 10 and Pac 10 weren't very good this year. Big 12 had a good, competitive year.

hahaha, shows how much you know about college basketball by ranking the Big East fifth. They had roughly 8 teams make the NCAA tournament last year. ::)

ACC by far and then it dosent matter
Big 10 (alright. wisconson and ohio state..and then a big dropoff
Pac 10 (ucla and then no one else
Big east (worst year in 15 years Cuse sucks, uconn is weak for a ucon team this year and bc dosent have depth.) But georgetown will take it all
-
ACC by far
Not this year.
Carolina had a good season and when you look at their roster, it's easy to see them making it to the Elite Eight, even with a tough bracket.
But after UNC, there's a huge drop-off, which was exposed when NC State tore through Duke, Virginia, and Va Tech last weekend.
This could be one of the worst years ever for the ACC in the tournament.

The ACC is the only one that matters ;D
But the Big East can do some damage.
I'm a Duke, NCarolina, Maryland fan to the core, so my opinion is quite biased.

anyone fill out an ncaa pool?
i did mine in about 30 seconds with no changes....real scientific like

That may be true, but the ACC does have how many teams in the tourney?
-
worst year ever for ACC in tourney?
So far they are 4-2, we will see how it goes from here
-
The ACC had 7 teams in the Tourney. I kinda figure Duke was going to lose being that they lost to Maryland twice and NC State (which is in the NIT) twice, and they didn't look like the Duke of old. Hell, even shaky ass Maryland idn't look all that great.
-
A lot of the ACC teams have already been sent packing.

go longhorns!!!!!!!!11

As long as North Carolina is in it. Georgetown won, with Patrick Ewing, Jr.

Carolina is arguably the most talented team in the tourney, and we know they're well-coached, but they're also very beatable, and that concerns me.
But, while it would be great to have Carolina win the title, that doesn't make up for the fact that no other ACC teams are in the Sweet 16. That's pathetic, by any standard, I'm afraid. Sure, I know every conference has its down years, but my problem with this season is that there was WAY too much chatter about the dominance of the ACC and I just didn't see it. And now, the rest of the country is seeing what I've seen since November.
-
Well, the ACC fielded 7 teams, more than any other conference. But, the qaulity of teams was down pitifully. Maryland has always been shaky, but perennial in the tourney, as is NCarolina, Duke, and Virgina. But all these teams are down, especially Duke, I haven't seen Duke this shallow in a while.
One cannot deny the ACC is is hardest abd most competitive conference. Many of the teams in the Big East would not even place mid-way if they had to contend with the MD, NC, NC state, Duke, Florida St, VA. The ACC has had more teams win the National title (recently) than any other conference.

Every team you just listed by NC was completely mediocre this year. ::)

Exactly, that what I said, look at the teams, they were pathetic this year, but yet 7 of them managed to get in the into the Tourney. And then they fell one by one. I knew Butler was going to beat the Terps, because the Terps tend to always play that way, unless they play Duke. Duke, was not a real surprise either, I had them losing either the first or second round.
-
at least all but duke won their first round games. if JR Reynolds hadnt hurt his ankle with 20 seconds left in the first half UVa would be in there against OSU tom night.
I think that Carolina Gtown matchup will be one of the tourneys best....if it happens....I don't think Gtown has enough talent at the guard position to stop Carolina
