Title: The second coming of Coleman!
Post by: Andre Nickatina on March 01, 2007, 11:17:05 PM
Do you think someone like Coleman will come along anytime soon?? I never thought it possible until Joel Stubbs came along. Too bad his legs will never amount to much though. Does anyone else think we'll se anything as great as ronnie anytime soon?

I actually have high hopes for Ron this year. This could be his best year since 03.

Excellent topic / Great question! There could be a rare handfuls out there, but the only one whom I know and can therefore recall, is Zac Khan. He would need to bring the legs up though.

Hell no. Way superior structure and completeness in comparison to Jay, in spite of the (relatively) sub-par legs. This guy is way more thicker and rounder than Cuts. He's 30 and 6 feet tall. If he brings up his legs up on par, I don't see anyone out there beating him.

Maybe Victor if he gets his act together, or Phil Heath in a few years, but Coleman was exceptional beyond belief. It's hard to put all the factors together that made him the best into one physique.

Phil Heath's bone structure will never ever be good enough/wide enough to be in Coleman's league.

Width is the probably the biggest factor that could stop him from becoming the best. Already he has so many strong points and he's not even a year into his pro season.

Vacuums are so pre-90s Hedge. That was an era of Aesthetics being on par with muscularity, upper bodies overshadowing legs etc. We're now in an era of mass and freakishness. Nearly every damn competitor has a gut. It's only a case of who can hold it in the longest. Anyone who can pull a vacuum is conferred freak status that's talked about for 5 mins, before the talk turns to the mass monsters with the least offensive aesthetics.

People who keep singing the 'bring back the old days of glory' themesong need to move on. Change is a part of life and will happen regardless of your approval. You either move on or get left behind.

Zac Khan has a small waist and crazy thickness. Maybe it's unrealistic for us to expect guys competing over 280 lbs on a 6 foot frame or shorter to pull a vacuum.

Victor has a long way to go, although that being said, he's got all the right weapons to do it. But look at these screenshots I took from the 2005 Mr Olympia, where Ron was smaller than in the previous year or the following year - you can tell how Victor, who looks pretty good, round and full by himself, looks small and under-developed compared to the Ronster.

ronnie had crazy bellies, lines, symmetry, near perfect structure, and could get ripped.  and he started heavy usage later than most.

we won't see another ronnie in this lifetime.  heath might have 3 of 5, but he's no ronnie.

Kiwiol thanx for the compliments but I think its fair to say ronnie is out of this world and we will not see someone like him for a while.  I am training hard and trying my best to bring in a better package and dont wanna add size if it jepodises my mid section.. Here are some pics from my last competition in the british finals where i came 2nd in oct 2006.

good, i noticed most of you guys in the uk like to keep it simple and on point. thats how it should be....

very uncomplicated training..i like that. all you tiny guys...no magic there,,,just alot of hard work..no fancy routines.
and add some super supplements of course!

True, he's really tiny overall. Didn't realise he has so much to improve on to be the next Ronnie. His biceps, chest, calves and lat width are pretty close to Ronnie's. Ronnie also has the thickness and conditioning that Vic doesn't have, though.

Yeah he is thick as hell. But,you should wait until we see his seven mandatory poses. Until then we dont know him at all.
For ex, look at Markus. He looks like Mr.O from the front.

True... but from the back, it seems that legs and lats are the only things that are lagging... his middle back is one of the thickest I've seen... but I do see your point.
Yes,For example, his quads needs more sweep. Maybe its very hard for him. Because ,if you want to add more sweep to your quads, you need to do good power movement like heavy squat. Then you know...those exercises make your waist line and gut bigger....Mmmmmmm its a big dilemma.

Hell no. Way superior structure and completeness in comparison to Jay, in spite of the (relatively) sub-par legs. This guy is way more thicker and rounder than Cuts. He's 30 and 6 feet tall. If he brings up his legs up on par, I don't see anyone out there beating him.

Yea you're right... Potentially better back than cutler as well.

I am going to go with Trey Brewer.  The kid is only 21 years old and has more potential than any other bb in the NPC!  Trey is on the cover of MD for April and just recently signed with BSN.  Give this kid 5-8 more years.....Watch out Coleman!
