don't need to, it's not possible WITHOUT A SHIRT, if he does it in just a tshirt with a flat back i'll believe it, plus i'll have to personally weigh and load the plates.

I'm not going to do the play by play, but you're right, he was wearing a shirt!

he couldn't do 485 in just a t shirt, what does that tell you?

He said he good for about 450 raw.....that's still a hell of a bench for 170!
-
lol he's wearing a shirt
not only that...but the guy "spotting" him is practically lifting most of the weight for him (his hands are on the bar the entire time)
even for his raw bench of 405, the guy has his hands on the bar the entire time
props to him though for not being a fatass, he has a decent build
-
hahahahaha, what a joke.

mazza's a strong fucker. he's done over 600 in competition in the 165s. shirt or not, that requires a shit ton of strength.
people keep acting like the shirt "gives" you all this weight, but it sure as hell doesn't. he wears the same shirt i do, an inzer rage-x (though his is probably modified a bit, but then so is mine). yet somehow i get less than 90 pounds out of it and he gets about 200.
what does that tell you? it tells me that he has an INCREDIBLY strong lockout, aside from much better form. if he and i both had the same raw bench but he's got a much stronger shirted bench, we could both have the same shirt, he's simply STRONGER. period.

No.
Watch the clip, Mazza's got an open back.
You know powerlifting, then you also know that an open back is a different ball game.
Wouldn't surprise me if Mazza's got a double ply, too.

dude it's a rage-x, of course it's a double ply. no one gets that in single unless they don't know what they're doing. mine's also an open back, also grid-stitched. the only difference i see is the scoop neck and the likelihood he went for the crazy neck. i still need 400+ to touch my chest and despite that 455 has been a challenge these past few weeks. if the 'shirt gives you 200 pounds' rule were legit, i'd have a 565 bench but i'm over 100 pounds away.
is that all technique? hell no, it's strength.

so then he should be able to press 700 without the shirt right, since it 'doesnt add any weight', right?

no, you're not paying attention. if you have triceps capable of locking out 700 pounds but a chest that only pushes 400, you'll have (theoretically) a 400 raw bench and a 700 shirted. however, if you have a chest capable of pushing 400 but triceps that also only push 400, guess what? you'll have a 400 shirted bench, maybe SLIGHTLY over if you can get enough throw.
the shirt transfers which muscles take the brunt of the work. if those muscles aren't STRONGER, then you won't move more, ya dig? you have to have triceps that are strong enough to move 750 pounds to have a 750 pound shirted bench.

In the WABDL you can where a single ply Rage-x but you cant where a double. Not that it matters really, but I get almost 170 pounds out of a single ply F-6 and I've been hearing of insane numbers from the single ply Katana.

you can wear one, but the blowout rate with single ply rage-x's is sky high. a friend of mine gets insane numbers out of his F-6 as well. i've been tempted to trade mine for one of those because i don't think i'm strong enough to use the damn thing.

did anyone ever tell you how bad you are at making "hope this helps" posts? we're having what adults call "a discussion". grown ups have them when they feel like exchanging ideas or ironing out misunderstandings. hope that helps.

Bench shirts are for fat people or skinny people who want to feel big and strong.
Hope this helps :-\

yes.

haha, go fuck yourself ;D
raw is the only thing that counts. i think you should read what you wrote earlier: some bench shirts dont even allow you to lower the bar to your chest without heavy enough weight. better to compete in rack lock-outs instead.
only record that counts is the raw world record.
