I agree. Not impressed. But as the judges say, "it's a singing competition." I think Melinda is terrific. Lakisha is very good. The rest have the blah factor for the most part, particularly the guys. They really suck.

Don't be scared man. :) I didn't watch it for the first 2.5 years. My kids finally twisted my arm into watching it and now I'm hooked. I can handicap the contest pretty well now. I've already given you your likely two finalists. :)

Thanks. I agree the American public is stupid sometimes. That Sanjaya kid is horrible, but America likes him so he is still around :-\ Sundance kind of sucks, but he is way better than that kid. Last year we chose "top 4 wildcards" with 10 people left for 100 bucks, had to choose someone to make the top 4, couldn't choose Taylor or Chris. My buddy took Pickler and I took Elliott for 100 bucks :D

Yes, but Taylor was/is a fantastic performer, his singing is so-so, but he was very entertaining. Chris was obviously heads and shoulders above the rest(although I like Elliott myself), but Taylor just had something that made people like him, I don't see anyone this year with similar qualities. Plus I miss Katharine, she is gorgeous. :o

He's not much different than some of the average singers who lasted several weeks too long. I doubt he cracks the top three, which will likely be Melinda, Lakisha, and Jordin.

I haven't felt this bad for a while and it was just awful. I'm not a kid but in my late 50's and have gotten so emotionally invested in him.
I feel crushed and I feel for him..all he endured. I find it hard to love and I am usually nice but I feel ha-e for those people who posted vile things on uncensored sites about him and his mom and sister and I hope they someday see how unjust they were and what low humans they were to do this to such as wonderful person as Sanjaya. Sanjaya you are a better person than me for I know you don't hate.
Once my emotions calm down, I will try to emulate you more. I hope I can find support among the loving fanjayas in the midst of the gloaters. You fanjayas know how much I loved an defended him in my posts.
Tears are just dropping as I type. No idol has ever affected me this way..he left way to soon. I hat= the producers..they exacerbated the hate and then dropped him so he didn't get his true due.
I am unsure if I can keep watching after this season as the whole thing always pulls with my emotions so and I already am clinically depressed. What's the point in watching now. Is anyone else reacting this strongly. It was hard to see him cry.

My daughter thinks Jordin can beat Melinda. I don't think that should happen, but Taylor Hicks beat Chris Dautry (sp?) last year, so I guess anything can happen.

This season sucks in general, but last year on I was very into it. The final four last year were quite good imo. I don't like one contestant from this year though.

Yeah. Very weak group, although I think Melinda is terrific. She's flawless IMO. She'll have a good career.

Ok Beach Bum, I am up 300 bucks. I won six weeks(Dialidol rules!), we tied a few and he never won ;D We both already picked Blake to go next week. Then he wants a double or nothing for the 300 on the finale, and he chose Jordin. I actually think she could upset Melinda, at least according to Dialidol, but oh well. So if Jordin leaves this week, I get 600 bucks. If Melinda leaves, then its a "push", well, you get it. I am assuming that Melinda and Jordin will be in the finals and then it's anyones game, what do you think?

I'll be very surprised if Melinda and Jordin are not in the finals. If I were a betting man, I would bet on Melinda, simply because she's the best left in the contest. But you never know. Jasmine Trias was in the top three a couple years ago. :-\ I'll have to wait till they perform.
Has Jordin been beating Melinda on dialidol? I think you're right that she could upset Melinda. My daughter has been all over me saying she thinks Jordin is better and can win.

i dont really watch the show....ever. but i was watching a bit tonight and i noticed something.
i think the host( i think his name is ryan) fucked up big time. about half an hour before the end of the show right as they were going to a commercial ryan was saying whats happening when they come back after the break, and he said(im positive its what he said) "WHEN WE COME BACK WE'LL SAY GOODBYE TO MELINDA". this was way before they announced the results. as i said i never really watch the show and wasnt watching the first part tonight so i didnt now if she was already announced as being voted off or not. anybody else catch that?
maybe someone has it taped and can go back and look.

I loved the performances, but talk about an anticlimactic finish.
The Doug E Fresh/Blake duet was terrific. Tony Bennett is a legend. Gladys was good. Smokey was good. Melinda was as good or better than Bee and Cee Winans.
Jordin is good, but not in Melinda's league. All I could do to counter my kid being right (she has been in my ear for a week) was talk about what an amazon Jordin is. :)
