I meant as in daily, few miles a day type guys.

Also, do you guys see it as more beneficial than traditional bodybuilder ways of doing cardio?

Running is to hard on the body, your better off walking on the treadmill or doing another piece of cardio equipment.

enjoy running here.  actually dropped over 20 lbs and training for my 1st marathon, training is going well,  still weight training.  I think running is great for cardio

It would be difficult to maintain signaficant muscle mass while avidly running.  I lost 20 pounds during one cross country season when I didn't even need to lose any weight.

SO  far I have lost weight, but have kept on working out and kept a good amount of muscle.  Obviously I lost muscle running this much, especially my legs have thinned down.  But I like it.  If you want to be a top level NPC competitor or a pro, then running that much will be detrimental.  If you want to do local comps and keep in shape, then best form of cardio in my opinion.

I have a friend who loves to run.  A couple years ago he ran 120 marathons in 120 days from LA to New York.  He likes to run.  He ran one marathon in under 4 hours in the morning then fought for the World Championships in Muay Thai and won by a 3rd round knockout.

Unless you can count going to the park just to sit on a bench and watch all the studs jog by in their spandex shorts with their testicles screaming for air, I guess, no.  I am not a runner.

is he in good shape physically?  i mean does he look "healthy" ( you know with some muscle) or does he look like scrawny?

i'm really concerned about this.

I ran 10 miles today in the rain.

Ran 13 miles last week.

I am training for a half ironman triathlon in June, and even earlier, an 18 miles running race on March 31.  I am nuts, yes.

I've alwas found that running is the easiest way to burn calories for cardio. But, being in the marines I don't have much choice. I run close to 20 miles a week, before I got myself deloyed to Afghanistan I ran longer distances but the altitude over here is an ass kicker. There's nothing like a 3 mile run after training legs, in my opinion it really tests your will. Hopefully, I'll do one of the Okinawa marathons this year when I get done with my tour over here.

You should stop right away. That's why you have skinny legs on top of your genetics.

I love running just as much as I do bodybuilding. I havn't been running as often as I used to which was 5 days a week. I plan to do "marathon runs" one day a week where I just pick a direction and run as long as I can. I love that. Nowadays I only run 2-3 days a week. I coulda/shoulda today but I homework.   >:(

my knees hurt when I first started, but as I stayed consistent with the running and dropped some unwanted lbs, my knees have been fine.  Only time they hurt slightyly if I run over 18 miles, but other than that, they are great now.  Running is also great for the teardrop in your legs
