Title: it's in there

I've found that the best resourse for beginning bodybuilding is Arnold's Encyclopedia.  I think that the prescribed workouts are way too long, but as far as being a general resource, it's fantastic.  Illustrated exersizes, even some stretches.

In fact, I lent out my copy yet again, this time to someone at the gym, who is really working through the book

the only problem is that he prescribes way too many sets imo.  If you ignore this bit the book is great, it's true.

What if you don't go to failure, would that still be considered too many sets? (I haven't read the book)

He advocates going to failure.  In pumping iron doesnt he say something along the lines of "its the 10th or 12th rep that seperates one from being a champion or not being a champion, being able to push through the pain barrier"
