Title: The guts, whats to blame?
Post by: muscularny on March 17, 2007, 10:12:32 AM

The guts started in 2002 so what changed, it seemed everything was working fine you had those crazy physiques between 93-01 (yates, levrone, ray. Coleman 01) then all of a sudden the distended guts started to effect many.

Slin has been around way before 01 and so was GH.

Whats your take, is it the added amounts or is it IGF + Slin + GH

Lets hear some opinions

insulin for the most part gh on some occasions.  in addition youhave to remember these guys eat alot of food so the gut is bound to protrude.

Remember the movie Dream Team where Michael Keaton says "Maybe my chair is in a circle and the rest of the chairs aren't"....

Well maybe a gut should be mandatory since there isn't many w/o one these days.

Force feeding and training also play a role.  Not to mention genetics.  Gunter does all of the above and he doesn't have a gut.  I know some of you won't want to acknowledge these things, but they are still true.

i agree.

the smaller guys like dexter, priest, ray, wheeler, etc. use just as much gh and dont have guts.

they dont get as heavy and probably dont each as much as someone who competes over 260.

why do people think dexter doesn't have a gut.  just because his conditioning is amazing doesn't mean he doesn't have a gut.  Look at his relaxed pictures, he could put alot of other pros to shame with his gut

Why in gods name would you do something like that?  Even if you're 100% carb depleted, you can't store that much carbohydrate as glycogen, and you certainly can't use that much for energy, so where's it gonna go?  That's right, fat storage!

That's also a good way to give yourself diabetes if you do that kind of crap long-term.

I swear, bodybuilders are getting dumber and dumber.  ::)

the protruding gut is from visceral fat, also called adipose, a huge deposit of fat deep in the abdomen, between the internal organs.  while they're able to keep their skin paper thin, insulin and GH increase the intra abdominal fat.

this protruding gut started appearing in the mid 1990s, which is shortly after they started adding insulin to the GH.

I think it's also related to organ growth from GH.. your intestines start pushing out...
