And people still don't think CNN has a liberal bias?
He's trying to influence public opinion.
bawhaha. Influence it? How by converting the 33% of those who favor the Iraq war?
IMO, there is an obvious liberal bias with CNN and conservative bias with Fox.
And people still don't think CNN has a liberal bias?
Liberal bias for questioning McCain and his misleading comments about Baghdad? :-\
These days anything that negatively reports the war is a Liberal Bias. plain and simple. It's about time you people start acting right and stop walk the line of treason.
You are either for us or against. There is no gray area. Just BUSH's way or the wrong way.
Why are you people so slow to get that?
Start acting right, go to church, believe in democracy, report the commies to your local party members... err ah republican... errr ah the FBI, report all terrorist, anyone who doesn't agree with BUSH to the FBI.
traitors.
Clinton caused all this you know. dam libs.
::)
hahaha you always can tell the pussies. They're the ones who blame everyone for everything.
Repubs have owned the white house, congress, and the world for 6 years, and we're hated and losing everywhere.
yet them blame everyone but themselves.
One of the biggest indicators of a drone-ship or a sheeple is when someone actually blames Clinton for 9/11.
Did they throw french fries at him?
freedom fries dahlin freedom fries ;D
DRUDGE:
McCain heckled by CNN reporter
Sun Apr 01 2007 13:50:38 ET
**Exclusive**
During a live press conference in Baghdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect. This guy is an activist not a reporter.”
Senators McCain and Graham flew into Iraq and drove into Baghdad, making stops at an open market and a joint Iraq/American military security outpost before appearing at the press conference.
This is not the first time Michael Ware has taken issue with Senator McCain’s comments about early progress in Iraq. Last week, after Senator McCain told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he needed to catch up on the news coming out of Iraq, Michael Ware responded, saying:
“I don't know what part of Neverland Senator McCain is talking about when he says we can go strolling in Baghdad.”
Michael Ware has also publicly expressed his views on the war last year in an interview with Bill Maher, saying, “I've been given a front-row ticket to watch this slow-motion train wreck … I try to stay as drunk for as long as possible while I'm here … In fact, I'm drinking now.”

Has ANYONE viewed a clip of this heckling by Ware?
Ware was interviewed and said it NEVER happened.
I'd believe Ware over John "Jerry Falwell" McCain.
No, still can't find it.
that would be HUGE for drudge to report it, if the incident was entirely made up
maybe Drudge just got snookered by one of his sources
either way, the story appears to be fake
You've got Ware denying it ever happened and there is no audio/video of it happening
If this was a live press conference there ought to be some tape of the event.
If more media did push the envelope, politicians might be more honest.240, do you honestly believe this would do the trick?
http://prisonplanet.com/articles/april2007/030407_b_Olbermann.htm
Matt drudge pushed the story without source. Dayum. Called the guy a drunk and the video showed no such exchange ever occurred. I guess it was intended to take the focus off mccain's little market march, or to make the anti-war media look like lushes.
Matt Drudge - today's worst person in the world!
I didn't believe it until I actually started paying attention and comparing CNN and Fox. IMO, there is an obvious liberal bias with CNN and conservative bias with Fox.
One thing is certain: this Ware guy isn't just reporting the news. He's trying to influence public opinion.
Is the consensus now that this was faked and that it never happened? If so Drudge doesn't look good in this, if he ever did.
edit: Alex Jones is one crazy wacko.
If it is false, I hope they drag him out for ridicule on the media arena.
A good journalist always double-check a good story.

edit: Alex Jones is one crazy wacko.
Tell me about it. I watched a clip of him supposedly predicting 911. ::) What a fool.
Beach Bum, remember when I asked you who you believed would be more likely to warn you about an upcoming attack?
You said Alex Jones, not Bush.
Lots of witnesses too, so you shouldn't bother denying it.
I'm just wondering why you believe some "fool" would protect you better than Bush.
bawhaha. Influence it? How by converting the 33% of those who favor the Iraq war?
LOL. Can you make it through one day without making stuff up? LOL. Pull the quote 240. Use the search feature. Should be pretty easy.
Or will this be like yesterday where you told me I quoted Hillary? http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=138952.50
Alex Jones is a fool. After watching his clip, I understand a little better why you like him. He has a paranoid mind, just like you. I bet he believes we faked the moon landing too?
P.S. You don't get to invent quotes from me anymore. :)
bullshit. i made a big deal out of it and i know some here remember it. using 'search' over something embarassing you wrote, which you can delete, plus your mod powers, well, you do the math.
you said it, and you know it. and you don't have the guts to stand by your own word.
LOL! Exposed as a liar yet again. 240 I'm starting to think you have a broken moral compass. :-\ Honesty is a virtue man.
Tell us about honesty. You told us you were a high school dropout, then the next day you were a college professor.
I'm an honest man who speaks my heart. You're a coward who cannot even own up to statements you made in the past.
you probably deleted them, ya liar.
a search is a waste of time. The regulars here will remember the big bruhaha that ensued when you did admit it.
you have shown you lack the integrity to stand by your own word. I pity you.
LOL. Put up or shut up. Caught in a lie again. And doesn't it just suck for you that can't make up quotes anymore? :)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077008/plotsummary
This is really important to you, isn't it?
Sad.
LOL. Liar. Caught with hand in the cookie jar. Running like scalded dog. LOL. . .
Dude you always make me laugh. :)
you're a 38 year old college professor who posts on getbig all day.
I'm a scary judge of talent my friend. And you have talent.
you're a 38 year old college professor who posts on getbig all day.
I'm a scary judge of talent my friend. And you have talent.
I honestly don't feel like searching thryu 6800 of your terrible posts for something you could easily delete. Jag will back me, she reminded you last week that she remembered our discussion too. I am sure others here remember it too.
Most press is Liberal and they report on what suits them, if it were the other way around (mostly conservative media) you can bet those numbers would damn near be reversed!
::)
I honestly don't feel like searching thryu 6800 of your terrible posts for something you could easily delete. Jag will back me, she reminded you last week that she remembered our discussion too. I am sure others here remember it too.
Absolutely! I remember you saying that Beach Bum. I remember laughing my ass off at it too.
you can deny it all you want, ...but those of us who read it remember you saying it.
I also remember how you danced around it too, ...until you finally admitted it.
Oh quit acting like a dang fool Jag. ::) Quote me. I'm calling you on this crap too. Same challenge I made to 240: put up or shut up.
I would quote you except the post in which you admitted it is now gone.
I did a search the last time you denied it, ...and it is gone.
You can deny all you want, ...the three of us Me, YOU and 240 know the truth.
There may even be others here who remember it as well.
Sure Jag. It mysteriously disappeared. ::) When the facts don't support you, make them up. A 240 creed. lol.
I'm not surprised 240 would make stuff up. He does it all the time. But you? I'm a little surprised. Not totally, knowing what I think I know about you, but a little.
What's so mysterious when one can delete their own posts. I seem to recall the dialogue as well.
Why don't you just follow your usual MO and pretend you don't understand the question or respond with a similar non sequitur
Why don't you follow your usual MO and pose another straw man question. Wait . . . . you already did. ::)
Actually - no I didn't. There's nothing in my prior post that can in any way be construed as such
Why don't you educate yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
BTW - My use of "straw man" was meant to be ironic. I noticed that most of the right wing arguments on this site (yours included) and in the media are of the straw variety.
"What's so mysterious when one can delete their own posts." = straw man question. Hope this helps. :)
wrong again
It's a statement of fact, not a logical fallacy.
There's not even any nuance.
You tried to belittle Jag by implying that there was some mystery in the missing post when it's obvious that you could delete it yourself
Even 240's original question was gone, along with his quoting BB's response.
There are alot of posts missing from Getbig
[chuckle] Dude, this is a question (probably a rhetorical question): "What's so mysterious when one can delete their own posts." If you intended this to be a statement of fact, it should read: There is nothing mysterious when one can delete their own posts.
I didn't try and belittle Jag. There is no missing post. It never existed. What did and does exist are a plethora of assertions by 240, with no direct response from me. I generally ignore most of them. So, if you are contending I deleted a post with your straw man question/statement, you're wrong. You obviously haven't been paying attention to my exchanges with 240. They are rarely substantive.
What's so mysterious when one can delete their own posts. I seem to recall the dialogue as well.
Why don't you just follow your usual MO and pretend you don't understand the question or respond with a similar non sequitur
I recall seeing the post
regardless - my query to you is not a logical fallacy.
You can in fact delete your own post so why pretend like it's a mystery that the post is gone ?
Ah... wrong again Beach Bum. It is a statement.
That little dot (.) at the end is called a period. Were it a question, there would have been a little curly guy above the period. It looks like this "?" and is called a question mark. This is basic punctuation my friend.
I'm surprised a college professor appears so ignorant about something as simple and as basic as punctuation.
LOL . . . . LOL. . . . :D So when a person asks a question and mistakenly uses a period instead of a question mark the question becomes a statement? Now you guys are helping liven up my slow afternoon. :D
Are we going to do this all night?
My comment was in reference to my statement.
Did I also ask you a question?
Yes I did
Is every question a straw man argument?
No it's not.
Are you really that thick or is it just a goof?
[chuckle] Dude, this is a question (probably a rhetorical question): "What's so mysterious when one can delete their own posts." If you intended this to be a statement of fact, it should read: There is nothing mysterious when one can delete their own posts.

Wrong. He hammered you until you answered the question, ...then he gloated over it, and since the,n you've met all straightforward questions from 240 with eyerolls and general nonsense in a desperate and transparent bid to avoid another embarrassing pwning.
I don't blame you. He has a tendency to make you look like a fool. Although it's not like you need much help there
I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and entertain the possibility you may not have deleted it yourself, ...but I doubt the someone, even someone as foolish as yourself would dare challenge him to quote you on something you clearly DID say, without knowing for a fact the incriminating evidence had already been destroyed.
Only because you are incapable of having any substantive discussion with 240. You bob & weave and avoid it like the plague. Not that I blame you... you do appear extremely foolish when going up against him, and he has an uncanny knack for cutting out the heart of your argument with near surgical precision. It's almost like watching a Tyson fight. You get all lathered up in anticipation of a fabulous match, ...then Tyson goes and knocks his opponent out in the first minute without even breaking a sweat. It's a bit of a let down. You just keep running away from him. Who knows... he may get tired and decide to stop chasing you around the ring, ...or not?
Very good Jag. I'm impressed. Very coherent response. A mess factually, but nicely worded.
...despite all the typos? :-\
Yes. I've already said I'm not a grammar Nazi (although I do tease people about their grammar sometimes. Mine is terrible.) There was the typical fanciful element throughout your response, but it actually reads well.
And I don't have a very high opinion of 240's intellect or debating skills. He's actually quite juvenile. (I'm an overgrown kid too--according to my own kids--but at least I can admit this. :)) Almost always descends to name-calling if the debate/discussion goes on long enough. He's incapable of debating anything for too long without ad hominem. And maybe you have such a high opinion of him, because you have the same problem.
Can you tell it’s a slow afternoon? :-\
All night? Sun is shining here. Beautiful afternoon. For some reason it wouldn't suprise me if you were ignorant of basic astronomy
I didn't say every question was a straw man argument. (That would be another straw man question/statement by you. Very consistent.)
"Thick" as in "stupid"? You been talking to my wife?
I would quote you except the post in which you admitted it is now gone.
I did a search the last time you denied it, ...and it is gone.
You can deny all you want, ...the three of us Me, YOU and 240 know the truth.

Sure Jag. It mysteriously disappeared. ::)
When dealing with passive aggressive types, ones patience can easily wear thin.
I have a high opinion of 240 because I've seen the transformation of 240.
Just consider yourself lucky you didn't know him 2 years ago. He would have been sooo far up your butt, he'd have been spotting precancerous polyps. ;D (I'd love to take credit for that line, ...but someone else said it on here a while back) ...or maybe not? 2 yrs ago 240 had his head in the sand like everyone else, ready to take out the first person who even dared think, ...let alone whisper that there was something shady about the 911 story. The poor kid made the mistake of actually looking at the evidence rather than accepting the official story at face value. That's when he saw the official story came up looking like a piece of Swiss cheese. :P
He should have just left well enough alone and continued to drink the government Kool-Aid. {lol}
I do find it interesting to note the calm that has come over him now that he is aware of the truth.
It's just as it says "The truth will set you free"
Bottom line is: You have to stand for something, ...or you'll fall for anything.
Many who post on here are living testament to that fact.
"As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities." --Voltaire
For some reason it wouldn't suprise me if you were ignorant of basic astronomy
Why are you going off on a tangent about punctuation? Perhaps to avoid commenting on the original point?
I could spend my time pointing out when you've left out a question mark but that would be lame because we all know what you're talking about.
What were you trying to say when you typed the following (we all know that it wasn't an attempt to belittle Jag or avoid responding to her comment)Sure Jag. It mysteriously disappeared. ::)
Here is a tip: if you want to have a dialog, don't try an insult and then ask a question. :)
beach bum,
you are what you are. play your position. we're on different levels at this point, and it might always be that way. do what you're built for, what you've been trained for.
::)
Here is a tip: if you want to have a dialog, don't try an insult and then ask a question. :)
240 believes the government faked the moon landing. And about 10 or so other conspiracies. I cannot take someone like that seriously.
And I don't know him, but "passive aggressive" sounds about right.
still you never answer any question
He can believe the moon is made of green cheese for all I care, ...but when he IS able to back up his believes with sound, logical, arguments based on facts, ...a refusal to address it is merely indicative of your weak posture.
{giggle} I was referring to you.
240 used to be a heckler, ...infact, he was an even better heckler than you will ever be, but he's outgrown that.
Sure I don't straw man. ::)
I'm all out of laughs, but this is really funny. Jag you both believe in the same conspiracies. What else are you going to say?
I'm about tapped out. This is Idol and Lost night. I might a post or two left . . . . :)
{ROTFLMAO} I swear if Ron disabled the eyeroll smiley, Beach would have a nervous breakdown. ;D
I believed there are unexplained holes in the moon landing, particularly the PSI on the suits and the radiation faced. Plus the initial statistical chances
And above all, those fishy pictures. I would start a thread showing how the same backdrops were used with different rock arrangements, something impossible unless they moved around large boulders for different missions.
But it doesn't matter. Neil Armostrong could sign a confession and he'd get an eye roll.
Beach Bum, you are an irrelevant human being.
Do you really believe readers are so stupid and so gullible as to easily accept what you infer... that I am down with any and all conspiracy theories you accredit to 240. I just stated in plain language I don't care what he believes... he's welcome to believe anything he wants, ...but when he makes a sound, logical argument based on facts, your refusal to engage in any type of defense of a contrary position you hold dear is indicative of a weak posture.
ps - Are you rooting for Sanjaya?
I am not talking to "readers." I'm talking to you, oh great one, who believes Bush bribed the media (that's about equivalent of a faked moon landing in my book). I guess I should have said "you believe in some of the same stupid conspiracies." :)
P.S. Sanyaja sucks!! Booo!!! Hiss!!!!

If they are equivalent, then you clearly believe in the moon landing as a fake.
Either that, ...or you must not have heard about the huge media fund.
In that case, your math needs a bit more work. If I ask you to change a $5 bill, ...would I get 4 twentys in return?
Depends on who is giving the change. :) No I don’t know anything about the “media fund,” but I doubt it supports your contention that Bush has bribed the media.
Jag why is it that you (and some others) have the scoop on these nefarious conspiracies that news outlets won't touch?
Even 240's original question was gone, along with his quoting BB's response.
There are alot of posts missing from Getbig
someone find Sandy Berger and check his socks!!
Maybe you should refrain from forming opinions about subjects you know nothing about.
Who says BUSH "Bribed" the media?
Jag.
Oh? So BUSH sent the MEDIA Money to shut up?
To print false statements, ...support his agenda, ...spread false news etc., etc., etc.,
So he pays the media money to do those things?
Any proof of this?
Yes, ...there was tons of it. I can't believe you guys have never heard about this! :o :o
My mouth is hanging open so much I swear I'm gonna catch flies! :o :o :o
To print false statements, ...support his agenda, ...spread false news etc., etc., etc.,
This is just crazy. ::) Proof? I guess he's entitled to a refund? The media has hardly been supporting his agenda, spreading false news, etc., etc.
Orrin Hatch was on Meet the Press last Sunday and blatantly lied about Carol Lam - claiming she had no prosecutorial experience and was Clinton's Campaign manager in SoCal. Apparently all a complete fucking lie.
I haven't seen the transcripts but supposedly Rush Limbaugh picked it up and ran with it this week. This the basic MO - start a lie - pass it around for awhile and even if it's later retracted people still mostly remember the lie and not the retraction

How does this support Jag's claim that Bush has bribed the media?
It doesn't and I don't think Bush and Co bribes anyone. I see them more using the the stick than the carrot. They probably threaten, extort etc... but someone gave Hatch those talking points and either he or his staff was too stupid to check them out or they didn't care
I made the following comment: "This is just crazy. Proof? I guess he's entitled to a refund? The media has hardly been supporting his agenda, spreading false news, etc., etc."
I was talking about Jag's claim that Bush bribes the media. In response to my comments, you mentioned Orin Hatch, a U.S. Senator, making comments about former U.S. Attorney Carol Lam. Completely irrelevant to my comments. If you were simply changing the subject, that is fine, but you have to be a little more clear for simple minded people like me. :)
This is just crazy. ::) Proof? I guess he's entitled to a refund? The media has hardly been supporting his agenda, spreading false news, etc., etc.
I'm assuming you're just playing the devils advocate on this subject. I don't support Jag's claim that Bush is bribing anyone but if she has some source it would be interesting to see.
My comments and very recent example of Hatch's blatant lie is relevent given your comment:
Here's Rupert Murdoch saying that his network was trying to "shape the agenda" and supporting the Bush policy.
Listen to the snickers in the audience when Charlie Rose asks Rupert if there is any agenda the he wants to shape.
Quote from: jaguarenterprises on Today at 09:03:19 AM
To print false statements, ...support his agenda, ...spread false news etc., etc., etc.,
This is the comment I was responding too:
She was referring to the media, and so was I. So, your first point about Hatch has nothing to do with her comments or my response.
Now, the Murdoch comments might be somewhat relevant to Jag's claim that Bush bribes the media, but I think they're actually more relevant to whether or not Fox has a conservative bias.
Most press is Liberal and they report on what suits them, if it were the other way around (mostly conservative media) you can bet those numbers would damn near be reversed!
Most press is Liberal and they report on what suits them, if it were the other way around (mostly conservative media) you can bet those numbers would damn near be reversed!
From 2001 to 2003, Bush walked on water in the media.
The argument "the media is liberal" doesn't fly when they were very far-right for these 3 years.
Very true. Bush was untouchable by ANY media for 3 yrs.
Orrin Hatch showed a lack of integrity and ethics.
He should be impeached by people from BOTH parties in his state.
If people stopped defending poor behavior and started holding people (of both parties) accountable for their actions, our system would improve greatly. Instead, people defend low standards because "it's their team".
I am betting some moron here will soon defend Hatch.
Hatch issues a retraction (sort of) and it only took him a week. I wonder if Rush will do the same:
