Title: how do you girls think about cyberromances?
Post by: Bluto on April 14, 2007, 01:29:40 AM
from what i understand, open talk mod 'the beast' had a cybercrush/romance with kiwiol (who lives in new zeeland) and they even got "virtually married"

call me old fashioned, but that sounds kinda weird and creepy to me.

what do you girls think?

I think "whatever floats their boat"...I've had a cyber romance that turned into a really great friendship, and someone who would be there for me when I needed him. I actually hit on him on Myspace over a year ago and we've seen each other several times since then and stay in touch almost daily. The internet is great! I really don't want to think about life without him involved in some way. He is family now whether legally or by absorption, but he is family. He knows who he is... Luv ya AG

As for me, I have too many dalliances with real people, let alone people on the internet.
I could be sad, but I'm not that sad.  I guess it might perhaps be fun, cyber dating fakes, but just being addicted to a webforumintheUSA is enough for me...

So instead, I'm happy & really real, it's Sunny + it's Spring and I'm looking good!

But I need to be careful.
Eyes (& chest) up!

(I'd sooner see them in the flesh, this cyber bullshit is just for a laugh, no?

ps:  saying that, I've just remembered that I did once do an ad (last May) on a "dating" website and got 123 replies in one night.  I did 3 lovely not-blind dates and I've already posted the outcome of that lot>  Too young, too horny etc. etc. etc.

My real Italian is coming back to London on Monday, he said he went home to Verona for Easter to break up with his girlfriend (who is 19 and bulimic, so that shouldn't be too difficult?

I've got his guitar and that's real.

But I might post another ad on Gumtree if I get frustrated...

oh wow, my Italian just now came home two days early.

I'll be gone from this website for at least 2 weeks.

It was actually an assumed "real" marriage Bluto. As creepy as it sounds, the assumption was that she was to fly to NZ in real life to marry him, not a cyber relationship.

Who knows? Probably got a little tired of the fall out from all the Kiwi stalking. She seems nice. It seems a little unreasonable that high profile posters are responsible to make a personal statement or 'away' message every time they take a break from GetBig. :)

Maybe she's just busy.

Was probably concerned her personal crap would be posted on the V and didn't want a bunch of wank callers. :)

Without a doubt, that was the case. Beast is an awesome girl. I've had the pleasure of speaking with her in a few PM's  getting to know her, and she's great.

Its too easy..and very two dimensional. I have gotten most of my personal training clients off the internet, met some people that turned out to be good friends..(key word- MET)  ---but a relationship that is strictly online leads to very unrealistic expectations. you dont see that person at their worst, you only see pics taken at the best angles, best moments, you dont know their friends or how they interact with others..all you know is what they tell you. The person you eventually meet most likely is 80% different than what was projected online. you are meeting that person's "representative" lol

Its alright to pass time or chat w/friends, but I doubt I could ever take anyone seriously that I havent met.
