his name is Dru Patrick, and his other lifts include a 210lb.db incline press for 3 reps, an 820 pound box squat, 535 pound incline barbell press, 275 pound db row for reps, 1150 pounds on the "power squat" machine, would you want to lift those type of weights if it meant looking like him, he appears to be around 5'9" and 300-315 pounds?

ASK SIOUXCOUNTRY hes hard core ::)

I think he is a huge and crazy strong dude. Thick as a house too!
-
he must pull mad babes...
-
No way he is a pig. I respect the hell out of his lifts I just wouldn't want to look like that.
-
So horrible to look at, and so mad at everyone. Sadness.
And it ain't a "450 pound overhead press". It's a, "3 inch, seated, feet on the wall, rack partial."
My sister can do that .

Dude, SquadFather, I know you're trying to pack on size and loose fat...stop worrying (dare I say "obsessing"?) so much about weight. Doesn't help. It'll lead you down a different path...that is, unless you DO want to have a powerlifter physique...?
it has nothing to do with that Garraeth, the guy just seems interesting so i was wondering what you guys thought about it, at close to 240 pounds i'm not in dire need of "packing on size" though.
-
Cool. Just trying to help...I know you are impressed and respect heavy weights, so figured if you're also doing heavy weights, you're not so much doing bbing style lifting.
And, I don't see why you can't add muscle (or at least retain) while loosing fat...as long as you're patient and pace your fat loss.
How tall are you?
a girl hair under 6 feet.

hahaha that is bad.
-
So your goal is what? 210 with zero muscle loss?
hell no i'll be a damn toothpick at that weight, i'm not sure where i want to go weight wise, i'm not aiming to be 6 percent bodyfat or anything, just want to get the 'ol waist down a couple of inches while keeping everything else as close to the same as possible.

What was wrong with that video? The guy is doing a box squat with chains. It looked good to me.

Small weights compared to his upperbody lifts. 295 DUMBELL ROWS for reps and a small squat.

The video I was referencing is not the same guy.
Do you understand what a box squat is? Do you understand how chains can be used in one's training? I am not being a jerk, just asking for clarity.

Do you find a 500 pound squat impressive? Cause if so Arvilla will show you that any day any time. He did 600 before!
Chains are used to add resistance to the top part. The lower you go the less the weight weighs. It is used to tie up enemy units.

All these guys squat to a box that is above parallell.
That's a good complimentary excersise.
Here's the thing: That is the actual squat depth these guys are gunning for.
No joke.

Mason, let me be totally clear: both box squats and chains are great IMO.
But to do train in squats to above parallell and then compete in a federation that allows that?
I will never respect that, sorry.

no matter how you slice it, dru is an unbelievably powerful man, and not just in the three main lifts. he goes for goofy strength like standing one-arm shoulder presses or incline bench. his squat depth is poor and the size of the dumbbells he uses limits the ROM, but regardless he's incredibly strong. used the name "strongerthanall" on other boards and earned it.

At over 35% bf, you need more muscle, and a whole shit full of fat loss.
-
HEY CHRIS DO YOU TRAIN WITH THAT DUDE?

You seem very bitter. I'm quite sad for you.

No.
I am training a natural bodybuilding right now. I am also working with Mike Wolfe to get him down to 308 lbs. I helped him get down to 342 for the Arnold where he set a PR bench of 859.8 lbs.

The box was slightly high, but I cannot read into it as much as you do.
A 500 lbs box squat with 100 lbs of chains and raw is pretty decent (no knee wraps, perhaps briefs or a suit).

not to mention it was a fucking safety squat bar.
