Yeah it was botched from start to finish..they usually shut down phone lines when guys get killed and anything the Rangers do can be classified so what they did initially wasn't to far from normal.......after that they should have conducted the investigation and just put out what happened.

Do you want to wait 3 months to see a doc because half of them are serving in Tehran? Do you want to pay $8 for a gallon of milk because they can't find folks to milk cows or drive trucks?

well, they can draft til 44, so most of us will be up. I'll run computer networks in the green zone, as my eyes will probably prevent me from pointing a 50 caliber anywhere.

240...We should allow the media..through embeds to have access to almost all that we do...overwhelmingly do u get the whole picture when u have embedded media as opposed to drive bys that get half the story from either the victims...'whitnesses' or by the unfortunate military spokesman, who by the very definition and regulations governeing his job, wants to tell the whole truth and facilitate the media getting an accurate picture. Generally he gets stomped on by some guy who fears the media. Petreus is very media savy and will use the media as a weapons to get the correct messages out.

I am assuming you are saying 44 because the Army will take people of that age currently? If they do start the draft I would guess they would drop the age. They wouldn't need to fill boots with people over 32 or so.

No. WIKI it. They changes the law. It's 42 limit for the draft, and 44 if you have a skill. Scary! I'm 30, thought I was in the clear. I am hoping they would drop the age, but who knows. They've done a lot of things nobody saw coming. And they have empty prisons set up for the people who refuse to go. Go to lockup or go to Iran. Not very fun choices. I really hope it's a last resort they never go to. I accept the economy hit the war gives us, and understand it. But being told that I have to go dodge bullets so that there will be oil for my grandkids when I'm long dead, not so cool.

I know that they changed the laws to help avoid the draft, I think if they institute a draft then they will lower the age again.

sorry miscommunication...they changed the law that had the cutoff age at 36 to allow older folks to join thereby helping to avoid the need for a draft. If they decide to have a draft I believe they will place the cutoff back at 35ish.

We have the draft here, and is a non issue. Our "military" does really dangerous things like clean up after hurricanes, so people don't really mind it.

It was war propaganda. but that's the problem - we don't know what else has been propaganda. This week, we know that WMD intel was fudged, Tillman death fudged, Lynch story fudged.... at what point do we look at OTHER things the white house tells us with a suspicious eye?
