It seems to me clearly superior to every other way of doing that particular exercise.
Am I missing something? ???

i like to do the elbos out pushdowns. it makes it more compound then an iso movement like rope pushdowns.
some gyms are some weird about people having to check out the rope to do pushdowns.

i prefer the v bar, just prefrence, and i'll do reverse sometimes with a small straight bar. but like i said its prefrence, everyone has there opinions, and favorites. the v bar helps me keep my form right, and i feel like i get more out of it.

i like to do it on the lat pulldown machine, with the long lat bar(close grip)it is hell on the stabalizer muscles

havent really thought about it, but a bar seems a little more stable. also easier if you need a wider grip for some reason

Another slant on this tricep exercise is to use a short lat machine bar. Instead of the regular hand over the bar grip, use a curl grip to do the tricep movement. Seems to have more focus and different feel on the arms. You will use less weight at first. Always try keeping the elbows gluded to the side when doing most forms of direct tricep work. That would include dips and close grip BP's. Good Luck.

Also, for more grip strength, try not to hold the rope all the way at the bottom by the plastic knobs at the end, this way you get your forearms in there too.

Switch to the short cambered bar and instead of using the close grips, rotate the bar to where the ends are facing down and use the wide grip, it really blasts the inside head of the tri's!

The reason to use an extra movement for the triceps, would be to train the full range of motion IMO.
So whatever excersise you pick, make sure you pick one that gives you a full range of motion, it's not as important to go as heavy on this excersise IMO.
You're going to go heavy on the bigger excersises such as benchpress, close grip benchpress, board benchpresses and dips.
On this excersise, I just focus on getting a full ROM.
Usually, I do frenchpresses with a rope from the low pulley, with a moderate weight.
