Someone I know was telling me about her friend who has a rule:
After the first date, if the guy doesn't promptly send her flowers, she won't go out with him again.
To me, that signals someone a bit too full of herself.
Thoughts?

Does she tell the guy "the rule" or is he supposed to be a mind-reader?
Either way, it seems pretty stringent and a bit weird. She may have other "rules" as well which could be pretty hard on a relationship :-\ Maybe she is afraid of commitment?

Thanks for the response
He's supposed to be a mind reader.
I didn't really get into details, but like you, I found it a bit wierd. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me who felt that way.

That's REALLY high maintenance! >:(

She obviously doesn't have many second dates. ;D

Sounds like a girlfriend of mine, not in the exact same sense but she has a mental list of things a boyfriend should have/be, constantly ignoring the good guys because they don't precisely fit her stereotype of a boyfriend.
A lot of women would probably consider flowers after a first date a bit pushy and overzealous.

He's supposed to be a mind reader.
Well of course he's supposed to be a mind reader...that's ALL we ask for in a man :o!!! JK by the way!!!

yes! tell him to run

yes! tell him to run
Why bother running... he can simply just not bother to send her flowers. ;D
That's not high-maintenance... that's just plan delusional. The woman is living in a fantasy world.
-
That one needs help, bad. How old is she? She's got a hell of a rough time ahead.
But then again, there are guys stupid enough to kiss her ass and heed her every whim.
Then he'll complain AFTER he marries her!! She wont respect him for allowing that behavior. Perhaps thats what she craves. This one is too weird to even ponder.
These delusional people cant even see their own actions.
-
It probably falls under the "best defense is a good offense" strategy. Reject before you get rejected.

I agree, she sets her sights so high that no one can measure up and then uses that as an excuse for not having a guy in her life............ sounds like she has other issues.
-
to me she sounds like a wanna be reformed farm tool. she may have been the complete opposite and thinks that by being so stringent now it makes up or straightens out what she did in the past. either way she's wacked.
-
not at all. im the same way. so it works out we send eachother flowers.

What if the guy brings flowers on the first date? ??? Does that automatically void out his obligation to send the flowers after tha date?
