Good to hear. Now maybe you'll start appreciating some of the physiques that influenced Arnold... Park, Pearl, Grimek, Ross...

one thing i find bizzare, is how all the greats aged really badly, except for lou ferrigno and serge nubret.

if u see them in the pumpin giron reunion they looks awful, whereas they should look healthy.

i dont know if it is from the training or the steroids (even though they did way less than current pro's).

Least they are still alive. Interesting to see todays generation at 60.

I think a lot of the guys were a bit older as well. Obviously Lou was the youngest. Nubret is genetic freak and as the saying goes black don't crack. A few of them probably went through a fair bit of hardship, but remember its also over 30 years since pumping iron was filmed so of course they will age.

bullshit

people age, even bbers. some of those guys are in their late 60's. have a look around you at the average guy in his late 60's.

the reason it's shocking to you is because they show the documentary and the reunion at around the same time and you probably felt/hoped that they would stay that way for ever.

Bill Grant is still in great shape, Arnold except right after his surgery in 02-03 was is good shape, Ed Corney (43 in pumping iron) until about a year before that documentary was still guest posing and doing some masters shows, Mike Katz own fault he looks like crap now, Franco is still in good shape for being over 60.

In a way they will*.  The legends have achieved nearly immortal status in that they will be forever remembered in top condition as the epitome of physical development.

what I say is they don't have the same look

not that they were "better" or anything

my favorite bbers are from the 90s: Levrone, Coleman, Newman, Francois, Wheeler, Sarcev , Ray, Dillet, Clairemonte .. the list goes on and on.
they all looked great

Exactly, plus what is he supposed to do act like a loser and have low self esteem cause he only Won 7 Olympia's, Greastest action star but not best actor or can only be a 2 term Governor of Cali and not President. ::)

To be honnest, I love Arnold "the bodybuilder" but I hate the person.

Really really annoying, plus he raped a lot of women too ( but it's ok since he is Arnold )

those days big was 220-240. now you see 230-240 at local shows. Top 5 O is 250-280 w. the exception of Dex, hes just a freak in his own class. No peptides either. Now days peptides destroy waistlines and take freak to a whole new plateau

Hello.

To "Mikethemachine":

Why would you say such a lousy and anti-semetic thing about Mike Katz?

He's been a good friend of mine for many years, does not have low self-esteem, and looks just fine, particularly for 64 years old.

Can anyone confirm how recent this picture is?

It looks like if Arnold dialed it in he'd look great for his age.  Maybe even the kind of shape he was in the during the late 80's.

Wah wah wah cry like a little school girl cause your so sensitive about words. I will never get over the fact that people like you get so worked up over something said by someone you know nothing about. Grow up and get over it, if it was Jaejonna cracking an asian joke would you get pissed.... probably despite the fact that he's asian but you wouldn't know that. My post got edited anyway probably cause you snitched. Either way last I saw Katz may be alive but no where near good shape, he has to be heavier or close to what he weighed when he was competing and it's not muscle :-\ I also have heard of many instances in which Mike was not always so positive and mentally felt weak. Either way he owns a chain of gyms which basically despise BBer's and BBing so fuck him cause he turned his back on the "sport" if you ask me and no judging IMO does not qualify as supporting BBing cause look what they have done to it. Look I don't know him so I can't judge him on a personal basis but from what I do know I can't say there is a good chance of me ever getting along with him.

I think they trained harder back then. not nearly as much reliance on drugs. very low doses of roids and lots of hardwork.

Well....

"Mikethemachine"...I am in no need of "growing up"( I assure you I am chronologically much older than you)and I didn't come to this board in hopes of verbally jousting with the likes of you. I really didn't know what this board is about.

I pity you for being such and angry man.

And, yes, I did indeed report your anti-semetic post to the moderators.

If you are so bent on fighting, may I suggest Iraq?
I hope you can find peace within yourself, my friend.

I see you still can't spell antisemitic correctly, also I can sure tell your much older then me. Point is I don't see why you just show up here not knowing the place and start to judge every post as if they are directed toward you, would it be right for me to go from site to site reporting everything I don't like regardless if I really post there or if it's not directed toward me. Angry no not at all, I find it quite amusing you found that post so bad considering I can't recall anymore then maybe 5-10 of my over 4200 post every being edited or deleted. If you knew me on here at all (or weren't such a close minded old fart) you would have not have felt compelled to be such a whiny bitch.
