Hmmm, it seems that while I love the sport and support the shows, a consistant following of rules and regulations is NONexistant in my opinion.
Issue 1. No enforcement of banned drugs or substances. A top BB can use any means available to enhance their physique. This is like a swimmer wearing fins or having a rce car fitted with a rocket , etc.
Failure to adhere to any resonable standards of allowed substances is what puts the freak physique on stage. All major sports make an actual attempt to ban illegal substances and the use is frowned upon. In BB they actually encourage it.
Issue 2 : Judging? Make it based on one very specific ideal kind of physique and post the judges scores like gymnastics and figire skating. The way its now judges a gu can come in with these huge body parts on his frame. This is like a dog show in the toy class with a poodle sporting the chest of a Bull dog, and wins because it looks "freaky and sick."
The actual rules state clearly the physique muct be a balance between mass , symmetry , conditioning and presentation, etc. Rarely do we ever see a pro marked down for being too big.
Plus, the judging of the "posedown" when the guys run into the audiance sometimes is absurd.

no consistant rules and no consistant standards
and now you know why this sport will go nowhere until there are uniform and consistant standards.
this should help,
