Title: BODYFAT TESTING
Post by: el duke on June 13, 2007, 09:49:48 PM
I took a body fat reading on one those digital body fat reading devices. The first time i took it I was at 12.9, then i took it like 3 weeks later, I have been dieting doing the velocity diet from T-nation, high protien tons of aminos, low  carbs , moderate fat, and a calorie deficient diet. Well since then i have lost 10 pounds. Well bodyfat reading 3 weeks later was 13.6%. I mean unless my eye are ff*cked i look visable more defined. Is this possible or IS the device screwed up. I know there a horrible way to test BF%

The best way to check you're losing fat is to measure your stomach with a measuring tape, and the mirror.

Calipers are more accurate the leaner you get. Forget them and go by the mirror.

plus you have to actually know how to use the calipers

i've seen the trainers at the gym use calipers on people and they tell them that they are 16% bodyfat when they are no less than 25% ::)

Go spend $50 and get dunked, it's the most accurate of any test!

Thats stupid. That what did he measure it with calipers? If he did, which he had to of unless he had a portable dunking machine that would read higher cause its mroe accurate,  the skin alone would make the reading higher than 0% That means that when the guy pinched his skin there was nothing between the calipers. ::)

From what I remember they said flex measured at 2-3% once.

It aint stupid. Jim Quinn said he knew for a fact Flex was measured by Billy Smith at 0.0% just prior to Mr O 93 , and he went on to say its the lowest ever recorded reading at Golds Venice.
