Any memories?

I believe Armentos was in highland park near detroit and I believe I lived A COUPLE OF STREETS DOWN FROM the gym. i NEVER SAW IT OPEN AS IT WAS IN A iraki infested neighbourhood

I trained there in 1979. Awesome gym. Great memories. Don Ross trained there often as did Tom Platz.
I was a new short term member but luckily at the time I was a 242 pound competitive power lifter and had no difficulties fitting in nicely with the mix. Leg presses on the "dune buggy". Watching new members try and remove the 45's from the Olympic bars- the 45's were C-clamped in place and could NOT be removed. LOL! I've still never seen that again.
Fond memories.

It was closed permanently in the late nineties. I lived next to it practically. I never knew it was a famous gym until Tommy mentioned it.
