Well the Days ARE getting continually longer.

The rate is about 2 milliseconds every 100 years. The rotation of the earth is slowing down due to the Moon`s gravitational pull over a long period of time.

This will only end when the earth is in synchronous rotation with the orbit of the moon.

More than likely, the Sun will die out first.  All life and everything on earth will be wiped out long before that however.

If the sun were not to die out first, Then each day would become the length of a month.

Also let me add that a large range of catalysts can change the length of days and time on earth.

Large Earthquakes, Meteor strikes, Ice Ages, Nuclear War on a Global Scale, etc.... Anything that can cause the changing of the rotation of the planet via changing the shape of the earth and its bulges.

I say that all the time.  We are constantly wishing the weekend to be here, therefore wishing our lives away.  :-\

Yeah, I know what you are saying. I graduated from college in early May and start my job this Monday. I'm looking forward to it though; too boring not having anything to do.
There is always something to do and learn!  :(

TA, if shiftedShapes is your brother, why don't you just have conversations face-to-face or on the phone vs/ conversing on the board?

It's like he's in his bedroom and you're in the basement, just go upstairs, he can come downstairs, and meet in the kitchen. Have a nice chat about the days getting shorter with mum over some cookies and milk.

I actually live in a condo now.  But there isn't a house on the street under a million.  It is the only street that runs along the water.  For some reason I like being by the water.  I am dead though when a Tsunami comes.

Ok, my bags are packed.  ;D

NO bags needed, only a sarong, bikini and flip flops.  That dress code is good everywhere.  you can buy the sunscreen here.  you may want to pack a diving mask and snorkel.

Doubt it. The Sun's got a good 4 billion plus years left and by the time it becomes a red giant, we'll have long conquered space and be living the good life 8)

Brutal universal negative attitude, focusing on continuum shit that will never affect you on a lifespan.

Also Epic geek science shit on a bodybuilding website I visit to distance myself from it.

Well "we" won't  :-\, and that's only if we don't destroy ourselves (via war - destruction of earth).

You can't destroy the Earth, lol. The only thing that will destroy it will be the Sun's explosion in upwards of 4.5 billion years by which time we (as in humans and upwards) will have colonised a significant part of the Universe and be living the good life 8)

If there is a war, some species / maybe most species will perish but life will always go on in one way or the other.
