Title: Interview with 2008 USA competitor Rudy L. Richards.
Post by: Matt C on July 12, 2007, 01:40:17 AM
INTERVIEW:

http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/rudylrichards07112007.html

Reminiscent of Sergio in some ways I think!  5'11, and with arms the same size as his waist.  In my opinion, Rudy will definitely be pro sooner or later, and I'm thinking sooner.

So...is Rudy "Squad Approved"?

Whats the flaw keeping him from being pro?

Whats the flaw keeping him from being pro?

He doesn't have a wide enough waist and he doesn't look months away from death.

LOL!!!

For real, Rudy is a very complete bodybuilder - he has flaws, but so does every bodybuilder.  If he hits his peak perfectly at any pro qualifier, he will be pro.

Only thing holding him back is he doen't hit the conditioning the judges want. Rudy is an awesome bodybuilder and good man.

Rudy is a solid BB, but I don't think his arms have hit 38 inches yet.

No offense, but I don't think he resembles Serge at all - except for skin colour

Thanks for the compliment guys.  Adrea, my conditioning has kept me back in the past.  I know this is so cliche, but this will be the best i've ever looked and conditioning won't be a factor this time.

Special Ed, a joke's funnier when there's some truth to it.  Look at my waist in the pics, you comment made no sense. I know you try to be funny in everything you do.  Not mad at you I expect criticism (or i wouldn't be on getbig), just trying to help a brother out, you seem to have lost some of your comedic touch a bit  ;D :-*

Please get back to being the funny guy you were, I enjoyed you top ten lists and most of you other work.

Rudy,

You obviously love bodybuilding and a good joke, which is an unstoppable combination. Dude, you're a monster and you've got loads of perseverance competing on a national level for the 9th consecutive year, but you'd be better off focusing on your awesome gym and developing other businesses than continuing to kill yourself trying to win a pro card.

In the meantime, here is a Top Ten just for you

TOP TEN REASONS RUDY RICHARDS WON'T GET HIS PRO CARD THIS YEAR

Thanks man, You took all that time to make a top ten list for me, sweet.  Even though I appreciate it, I have mixed feelings, on one hand I feel SPECIAL that you'd do that, on the other hand, I feel guilty for taking your time away from doing other productive work.  Here's an idea, maybe you could submit that list to MD for $2,000.  That way I won't feel guilty  .   I mean it's not like a David letterman list of some unknown like that, it's a special ed list.  may you could put it up for auction   ;)

As one of the founding fathers of The Squad i label this young man as Squad Approved. from now on everything will change for this athlete. thank god we saved you from that dark and disgusting gay for pay world.

You're welcome...that took a lot of time away from my sleep, but as Bon Jovi said, "I'll sleep when I'm dead."  As for submissions to MD, I think they capped my pay at $500, which is $500 more than the 7th place finisher gets at the USA's! It's all good though. No knock on your physique...I know most people can never attain your level of muscularity and condition. I just hate to see nice guys like you put so much time and effort into something they get very little out of. No hard feelings.

P.S. What size jeans do you wear? I've lost some weight and my 38s don't fit anymore. ;D

So i'm down to 7th now ?? if I could only get you to post two more times i'll be down to 1st.  Thanks for the compliment, most people wouldn't want to achieve my level of muscularity and condition... How do you know i get very little out of it ??? ???.  Obviously you compete to win but that doesn't mean you don' get anything out of it if you don't win.  No hard felings bro..  If i did, I wouldnt' have matt post this here (btw, thanks alot for interviewing me matt and posting it).

That's very nice of you man, i'm sure they're very nice pants.  The waist should fit but not sure i'd be able to get them over my legs  ;D  then again, knowing you they might be daisy dukes.   in that case i'll pass   ;D

Okay Rudy, you're now in 4th place. And how in God's name did you know that I used to wear Daisy Dukes? Because you love me so much, here's a photo of me when I was a little heavier and hairier. And don't worry -- Looking at a gay photo while wasting money on contest prep does not qualify as 'Gay for Pay'.

Thanks for clearing that up Ed.  The daisy duke think, well lets just say I could tell there was something special about you.  You look fabulous btw, need to work on the calves and more details in the shoulders to even out the symetry ;)

Wish I was there to check out the TU. Don't think we've me before Jason, I'll probably catch up with you in Vegas or back in NY.  If it's in Vegas, i'll be the guy somehere between 4th-10th  ;D

Enjoy you weekend little guy (no other way you'd fit in those sexy shorts of yours, which in turn explains why you come here and try so hard to be funny)  ;D ;D

It was fun conversing with you, now I gotta go prep to be the best 10th place finisher the USA has ever seen.

Thanks to Matt, Mars, Arvilla, Andrea, Sgt.D, swoletrain for the kind words.

Stavios, what's up? You're right, that has been my problem.  Bast000 I disagree with you but i'm definately a little bias

I'm out.
