Title: the "next" game
Post by: Alex23 on July 14, 2007, 08:53:09 PM
Arnold has allways been successful for one main reason; he detected what the game was, what the rules were and played it like a champ.

I find it sad to see posers trying to "follow" in his footsteps; you simply can't. The game is over and the rules have changed.

You wanna be Mr Olympia? Either move to  Georgia, UK, Arlington or Vegas dungeon, cut your social life, set your schedule around insulin or ain't gonna happen. The rules have changes. It's been "specialized". To be on top nowadays, it's a whole different set of rules.

Same applies to Arnold's second step; being an action hero. You can't be an 80's like action hero following the same rules. This is why Levrone is failing miserably. The rules have changed once again. He doesn't know what they are. You can't be the "made of steel" a-hole who can take a bullet while going to the 7-11, doesn't blink while smoking a 12" cigar. Nobody wants to see that.

Wanna know what the new game is?

It's not about bodybuilding or Hollywood; it's about understanding what the rules are in whatever direction you're going; master them and be the best player at it. Everybody meets at the top, no matter what discipline.

This is what Arnold did. In some instance he formulated his own rules and imposed them on the way. This means you're a master.

This is how life is; be on the top of your own game and don't let anybody get to the top.

And, it's doing your own game with the use of real hard work, bodybuilding isn't hard work anymore... with these drugs and crap you can build so much muscle by just cheating and fucking around in the gym.

Arnold had to work really hard and play it smart to succeed.

No denial here "climber"..  but if you really wan to reach the "top" someday, you can't play the game the same way the last 200 whishers did.

You have to establish yourself in a segment where NOBODY can compete with you.

This is what I did. It was un expected but all clear to me by 23 or so..

It's a totally different game these days. Luckily I'm not delusional enough to want to compete in this "game" called Bodybuilding.

Arnold really did seize upon the game of bodybuilding when it was open to being OWNED by the right person. He played it like a king.

And, if you think I'm in denial because my nickname is "climber" not "bodybuilder" or "big ###" then you're sorely mistaken. I chose this nickname because a friend and I used to joke about someone who was a climber.

the "how to" will come to you suddenly. in your early twenties . . . just like Joseph Smith. then you can start your own religion on getbig.

unfortunately, even this particular segment is already overpopulated.

Guys like Alex are good for getbig.com. They show up for about six months. Rack up huge post counts, drop all kinds of science then disappear under the guise of "it's not my life bro" or "i take a break from the boards". They are necessary to bbing board survival!

I know he might be a bit delusional, but Kiwiol is unquestionably one hardcore natural bodybuilder. I don't think he'd lie for me anyway so at least you'd have two people vouching for what I'm saying.

Oh, my bad . .  ;D

I don't know about how unconventional Arnold's rise to power was :

1. Be born white - Check

2. Migrate to the US - Check

3. Get wealthy patron(s) - Check

4.  Work hard - Check

5.  Marry a Kennedy - Check

6.  Always talk a lot of shit - Check

So to be like Arnold, you can't emulate Arnold.  That's deep.

Something tells me you think about Arnold a lot.

That's true but they each had their own style ans establish their own game; think about how Stallone started; Rocky was quite unique when it came out. So was Rambo.

Early Van Damme also had a unique Charisma and new way of presenting Martial Art through action (remember bloodsport).

Good thread - it's about being one step ahead of the game and making your own rules and letting other people follow you like the sheep they are.

Arnold didn't give a fuck about what people thought of him, same for Stallone and any other self-made person - that's why people should look at their own lives and realise it that they should have pushed the boundaries further in anything that they did and not care what others think or say.

Anyone can be a leader - it's about having the guts to put it into practice and push through.

But seriously, Bodybuilding for me is just something I do on the side for fun..  I make my money in real estate and I also own a Powerhouse Gym.. I don't need to kill myself to make money in bodybuilding..

I use this technique "thinking outside the box" in everything I do..

Arnold openly worked with Robbins in the early90's. However, he was an instinctive and already applying most of the Personal Power rules since his early career.

I like your sarcasm and attitude. I'm sure it lead you far in life.

people are becoming vegetables.  children are being programmed by the tv and computer at a young age, resulting in severe mental limitation.  it benefits one to try to forget the things you haven't figured out for yourself.  focus on something and take it apart; don't think of it in the terms you've been taught.  take anything in life and apply your own logic to it.  think, analyze; take everything apart and put it back together.
