As you all know Larry holcomb (AKA LLES) helped me get ready for my first ever competition,Larry introduced me to a wonderful human being by the name of Marty Vranicar,Marty and Larry were there for myself and Laura 24-7 (phone calls, comming to our gym, putting together a posing routine, every little detail.....the cost of all this was 0 (what we got was so much more.... their friendship,Marty just competed at the Masters Nationals and won the whole thing (over 50 class),thus earning his IFBB pro-card
Congratulations Marty!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well congrats

Good physique.. and a well deserved victory, however its not (IMO) a pro quality physique... giving pro cards to masters competitors is not a great idea.
-
what's the point of giving people over 50 a pro status?
-
I'm goin to go drop a duece
-
If the IFBB brought back the Masters Olympia, there would be no problem--an IFBB pro over 50 could compete against his peers. We need this contest back in the lineup.
-
terrible :-\
-
How did he get the pro card? No offence at all. But he looks like an amateur totaly.
Last pic(Maybe younger?) looks better.

Not his goal. Marty was a NABBA pro & when they did the cross-over shows in the 80's (IFBB & NABBA) Marty competed & won these shows (Marty has beaten Vince Taylor, not too many pros can claim that). This was unfinished business. Guys done over 60 shows total & lowest he's ever placed in 4th. He himself said this was prob. his last hurrah.

The last pic was 15yrs ago, I think that's the pic when he did the Mr.Universe. Once again the last pic was at age 35, this show was at age 50.
-
Damn, I thought I recognised him at the show. I haven't seen him in years. I am pretty sure he had a brother who competed too.

Marty was a great competitor from 1979 through the late 80's. Won his class at the AAU America a few times. Yes his brother competed. His name is Peter.

Actually, just the opposite. He started "gearing up" when he decided to do the show. Old school approach, grow going into the show, like Leverone , M.Christian, ect. The guy is 50, look at the prejudging pics, alot tighter, he ate up afterwards & was smoother at the night show, but at pre-judging (where 90-98% of the show is won or lost) he was definately on. But being as your the Mr.O in waiting, lets see your pics, so we can critique them properly (we'll all understand whatever excuse you give for not doing it.)
