Oksana Grishina -- New Fitness Star!!!
Check out these incredible BILL COMSTOCK photos of Fitness Pro OKSANA GRISHINA. She's incredible!

Alex,
Normally I normally don't agree with you on your non-USA women, however Oksana was without question the most beautiful, polished, professional fitness competitor to hit the pro stage. Her physique was great, her routine was not a routine but a performance and she will be the talk of the fitness world for some time.
I'll post up my shots as soon as they are done converting. She is what fitness should be about.
-
A few shots from the fitness routines. Bodybuilding.com should have all photos up sometime this morning. If my internet connection didn't blow like the wind, they'd be up already.
Julie Lohre should have been in the top three last night as she had a great new routine, physique was good and if she continues to perform as she did in Dallas she should be in the top 5 for the Olympia. Some good routines last night and it was awesome to see such a turnout from the pro fitness competitors. I hope a number of them head to Arkansas for the All-Star Classic in a couple weeks.
-
has anyone found a complete list of fitness results beyond the top three places?
-
Katie,
I think these are the final results http://www.musculardevelopment.com/browse/index.php?mode=contest&eventcode=1159 (http://www.musculardevelopment.com/browse/index.php?mode=contest&eventcode=1159)
-
Thanks Lift for that commentary - I am truly flattered. I am thrilled to be in Dallas and ended up placing 4th! It was an incredibly competitive show and awesome to see Fitness numbers so high. Congrats to everyone and can't wait to do it again in 2 weeks ;)
Julie L :D

Oksana did not place?
I don't understand i thought her routine was amazing.
-
Oksana was overlooked but without question belongs on the olympia stage. This woman performed and it was a work of art. Ron and I interviewed her, with the help of her husband & coach. The two recently wed and are residing in Las Vegas, aside from that you'll need to know Russian to know what she said.
-
Let us know when you have the video posted at bodybuilding.com. Thanks bro!

Irony and laughter. Places have... Only AMERICANS? Nonsense, judges not an eye? Bribability, corruption? Curve legs, absence of a neck - a place in the ending.. Again laughter.

That is a shame about Oksana.. I remember a few years ago there was another dynamite russian girl who was an amazing entertainer..full of spunk and a kick ass body..she missed the O by one place... it really stinks ... If Oksana competed in one of the European shows, she would prolly be heading to O now

Unfortunately, that's the way it seems to go. I have never seen her routine, but like I said in the other thread by the pictures alone you can see the quality of the routine just by her grace, extension, toe points etc. I hope she receives more equal judging in the future, the competitors should be judged by the skill and physique not by any national origin.
-
Lovely to see everyone so passionate about an athlete. That's great...really is...
I don't know if she would have done any better in Europe, never been to or seen a show there. But if you think so, I'd share that thought with Oksana. I hear that there is such a European show in Spain upcoming. Might be a good opportunity to prove a point. That however is a choice left up to the athlete.
I would love to see her on stage at the O too. I feel like she would bring a totally different aspect to the stage.
It had a great story and was truly (as Hinds says) a great "performance". A bit more theatrical feel than most. Certainly had quite an "Emotion" to it. I liked it, but not as much as some of the "High Energy" more "Bouncy" routines. However that's MY preference...and I realize that I have different tastes as most of you do too.
Here are a few shots from her routine. I know there are quite a few out there, but thought I'd add these to the mix.
Will post more pics later this week....I unfortunately don't have time to get to it right now...Maybe Isaac if you would stop recording every boogie blow and hygenic habit, you could do it for me : )
Adela, Tanji, Mindy - BIG CONGRATS!!!

Hmm, but sickly unfair -- STILL! I dont think all these women LOVE to spend all the money it actually cost to compete as a pro + flights for another country etc, etc.....just to be screwed like this. Of course they must be a bit 'pissed off' inside.......even tho they might not say so.... ::)
Just my 2 cent.....

She WON the prize for BEST routine, so that must mean she got the WORST body of them all to be placed 17th ::)
Hope this doesnt make sense to anyone.......?

I hear you............BUT when they actually award her with the best routine of the night????? Doesnt that say something? The judges must have liked it, right? So how is it possible to place almost LAST!?
I'm sure she can 'bounse' too, if thats whats needed ;)
PS! I never met or talked to this woman, so I'm not partial cuz she is a friend or anything, just shocked of unfairness...

Life isn't fair but this woman is a champion and you will see her get her due. As she said in an interview: "the person who wants to change something will find the way; the person who does not want will find the reason."

PS - Alex....what about Mindy and Adela....USA?
I know you weren't talking to me, but please excuse me as I butt in ;D
I see where you are coming from, but I see some disparity between those 2 and Oksana. Adela, although born in my parts yes, emigrated years ago, turned pro with the American system and has lived in the US for about a decade. Mindi, whose routines I adore as an aside, is Canadian. Not quite a 'foreign' as a Russian, who lives in Russia, who turned pro through the European ranks if I make sense.
Thanks for the pics btw. Appreciate them as always.

Congrats to everyone - this was a fun, very competitive show. Awesome to see so many newer pro's competing. It was wonderful to meet Oksana and she is an incredibly beautiful woman.
Oksana's routine was very creative and unique and I really enjoyed watching it but it was much slower than what fitness routines usually are as far as number of skills, strength moves and overall tempo. Just to clarify, after the show, both Oskana and Myriam Capes were awarded special Best Routine awards. Here are the details from the Europa Website:
(2)-Best Routines-This award is voted on by the press, photographers and other IFBB
Pro’s and given to who we think as a group has the best routine. (2 awards)
This is a very big honor and shows how much the crowd enjoyed their routines. Myriam was amazing too and had an incredibly high energy, EXTREMELY difficult (tons of strength and flexibility moves) routine. She will be one to watch in the future.
Hope to see you all in AR.
Julie :)

Very True! Much like Figure and Valerie W.! Paving her own way.
Life isn't fair but this woman is a champion and you will see her get her due. As she said in an interview: "the person who wants to change something will find the way; the person who does not want will find the reason."
CQ - Always love your input as you often "keep it real" ;)
As far as not quite as foreign...LOL...I guess, but last I heard...she was moving to Las Vegas (I don't know as I didn't hear from her??). Will this mean she's not quite Russian anymore :-\
I know you weren't talking to me, but please excuse me as I butt in ;D
I see where you are coming from, but I see some disparity between those 2 and Oksana. Alex, all I can tell you is Tanji's routines seemed to come off stage in 3D. I mean really crazy. Mindi and Adela too...Very strong routines. As the routine special award was not only voted on by judges, it was not solely based on IFBB judging criteria.

I am continually amazed at the growth of this show.
I walked into the venue on Friday morning and thought to myself...this is getting to be like the Arnold!
Great job at including so many other types of things for people to do. Julie and I even brought our son with us this time and he was able to run around and play on all of the blow up slides etc, see cool cars bikes and even gorge himself on all the wonderful protein bars!
We're already looking forward to next year.

Oksana's routine did have strength moves in them, and pretty much was one of the best routines of the evening. When the people in the press pit saw that routine, it was dazzling, something different, and very entertaining. She was overlooked, plain and simple.
Alex, we did an interview on video with Oksana which we should have up in a few days. Of course, it is in Russian so you can translate it for us. And she and her husband, married 4 months now (Las Vegas, White Chapel) knew about you!

Oksana Grishina....16th ???......... is P.D.I. the future of the European girls?
-
The same thing happened with Ivetta in 2003. Watching her routine was unbelievable.... it was a performance, and we really have very few people stateside who can compare with that level of entertainment.
and Isaac and Lena are right.. it is hard to overlook anyone who is that good... I am sure Oksana will keep doing her thing and the rest will follow.
-
Thanks for all the pics everyone....congrats to all.....
Congrats Chica!

Rick Lohre
Alex, all I can tell you is Tanji's routines seemed to come off stage in 3D. I mean really crazy. Mindi and Adela too...Very strong routines. As the routine special award was not only voted on by judges, it was not solely based on IFBB judging criteria.
Fitness - not aerobics and not sports gymnastics. It is grace and beauty. Read rules. In rules there is an IMAGE, instead of a set 3D.

I know about interview. Boris and Oksana - my friends. I promoter. I wait, all Russian wait...

Oksana to me has now told:
thank everyone who has supported me in Texas, my girls for support - especially Amy Haddad and Adela. For special attention to me, me it was very pleasant. I shall on Olympia for them as.

Interesting to note about her mandatory moves. I assume you mean the 45 second routine? That really is a shame. That said, it would make some sense that her 45 second was marked down.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again in Arkansas!
Isaac, you keeping us hanging.... ;)

This Little Rocker will be at the Little Rock Show!!! HEHEHEHE!
Yes, Born & raised in good old Little Rock Arkansas.

I was told by one of the judges that she had one of the best 45 second routines. I'm not clear on the mandatory moves in the 2 minute routine. Can someone clear this up-do you have to have the mandatories in your 2 minute routine and does it say you have to have a high energy routine?
I'll keep you posted on what's happening with Oksana as soon as the press release is finished. :)

There are no mandatory movements in2 minute routine...only 45 sec...
From the rule book...on the IFBB Pro League site
There are several revisions after the original....Ammendments are found on Pro League website.
45 Second
"1. In Round One (RD1), each competitor is called onstage, individually and in
numerical order, to perform a 45-second fitness routine. Each competitor is
introduced by number, name and country.
2. The competitor must perform six mandatory movements (three strength and
three flexibility), in the following order:
a. Two one-arm pushups done in succession
b. Four high kicks (alternating legs)
c. One straddle hold
d. One full side split
e. One leg extension hold
3. The 45-second routine must be choreographed to one continuous piece of
music (no music changes)."
2 Minute
"1. In Round Three (RD3), each competitor is announced by number, name
and country and is called onstage, in numerical order, to perform an
individual aerobic/dance routine to music of her own choice.
2. The routine has a maximum duration of two minutes. The sound technician
shall keep track of the time and, at the two-minute point, will fade out the
competitor’s music over a period of five seconds.
3. The two-minute routine may be choreographed to one or more pieces of
music (competitor's choice).
4. The routine should include elements of strength, flexibility, dance,
gymnastics, aerobic movements and cardiovascular endurance.
5. Costumes and props may be used; however, the Chief Judge must be
notified, in advance, of the use of props."

Oksana Grishina....16th ???......... is P.D.I. the future of the European girls?
No, to be frank I think the PDI is not the future of anything for anyone.
PS - Please excuse my rudeness I meant to comment earlier, congrats to Julie and Rick Lohre on Julie's 4th placing btw. Very impressive.
-
CQ,
Gee thanks!!! I spent over 8 weeks dieting and doing cardio so I could press that shutter release and look good in the audience! LOL. ;D
Just kidding, Julie really did work hard (just like everyone else did) and we're very happy with her conditioning and placing. This show was a very big accomplishment for her!
Rick
-
Congrats Julie on your placing!!! You looked great and your routines were solid!
Big things for you ahead!
Can't wait to see you in Little rock it's going to be fun!! ;D

Thanks guys! I am so excited about the show. Absolutely amazing to get to stand next to Adela on stage. Chica you rock!
Lorie, you time is coming, you just keep getting better at each show and I love the Marylin routine! I'll hold you to the trail mix and would you believe that I have already searched out some sushi places for after the show. There will be no more not getting decent food after the show!!!
See you soon!
Julie

Thanks everyone for the kind words!! I had a great time at the show as usual and I have been busy eating and getting ready for my O.F.F. Camps.
Julie, you looked great girl and it was a pleasure to compete with girls I never competed before. I look forward to see some of the girls at the O. It will be even better since Jenny Hendershott is going to be there. Be ready to have a great time girls.
Oksana, is going to be just fine. She will be at the Olympia stage too.
God Bless and come to my camps people:)

No one is saying she will place in the top 3 at the Little Rock (although she deserves it in my opinion). She can also receive a special invite, which is up to the IFBB.
-
Special invite for 17th place?? What about all the other girls ahead of her.....would be a bit 'unfair' if you ask me. NOT, that I wouldn't like to see her on the O stage........but come on. If they got it right the first place, she would maybe already be there.......but what do I know, anyway ;) :-*

How do you know where she will place in her next two shows? She's still the WORLD champion and why punish her for being #26 out of 26 in the order of the lineup? Everyone agrees she was overlooked. (She was 16th, not 17th). The only thing "unfair" was her not being higher at the Europa, but the past is the past.
-
Thats what I'm saying.......'unfair' at the Europa ::)
Of course I dont KNOW how she will place at the next shows.......but I just find it weird to be soooo much higher in a couple of weeks, thats all. No need to take it personal, Mr ;) You were not the judge, were ya? Ok then....
And, excuuuuuuse me for getting it wrong by one place....16th sounds a LOT better ;)

By the way Lena, a while back you gave me advice as to my wife training while pregant. Your advice was well taken and we have 4 weeks left. It's a girl and we have chosen Eva or Juliet as names. would love your choice on the 2 names..............thank s again.

LOL. It happens all the time in each order. Some competitors place well in one show and terrible the next and visa versa. I'm not taking it personal, I have no horse in this race.
I was kidding on the placing, not need to get your thong in a bunch.
I got your point and merely presenting another side to the situation.
:P

How exciting!!! I love the name Juliet.....even tho I got a few others picked for our next one ;)
Girls are fun......You'll love becoming a Dad - nothing can compare to it. GOOD, good luck and let me know how it goes. How does your wife feel?

music (no music changes)."
2 Minute
"1. In Round Three (RD3), each competitor is announced by number, name

individual aerobic/dance routine to music of her own choice.
2. The routine has a maximum duration of two minutes. The sound technician

5. Costumes and props may be used; however, the Chief Judge must be
notified, in advance, of the use of props."
There are only 5 moves in the 45 now since they removed the center split. And to clarify the "leg extension hold" is an L press.
As for as the 2 minute goes: The music must change at least 3 times in the 2 minute routine supposedly every 45 seconds and within each of these sections there must be at least one strength and one flexiblilty move demonstrated. The competitors are also required to wear either dance shoes or athletic shoes.
-
well some how that got messed up, only the 1st part is a quote the paragraph on the bottom is from me.

I couldn't agree more. He had the entire table rolling the other weekend in Dallas. I highly recommend inviting him to any party you're throwing. :)
