It's a good thing that didn't occur in Toronto. The humane society would've charged him with cruelty to animals.
There was a baseball game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the NY Yankee at the Skydome. It was a beautiful day, so the retractable roof of the Skydome was open. Being right at the foot of Lake Ontario... wouldn't you know a seagull flew by overhead. When Dave Winfield hit the ball, it collided with the seagull, ...and the humane society charged him with cruelty to animals. :-[ Needless to say, there was a collective groan of embarrassment that went out throughout the city. Sometimes following the letter of the law is just plain stupid.

Eat a salad, use FFI-MPG-Caps (http://jme.mpgproduct.com/default.aspx?cid=50962), turn off all unecessary lights, ...and go out and kick a puppy. :P

I've met my share of wacko animal activists who certainly fall in the category of off-the-chart loonies like vegans or environmentalists.
I'll eat a salad if you throw a steak on it.
I will continue to drive my SUV and get 15 mpg because when I do somewhere a hippy is crying.
And I will NOT kick a puppy. I'd rather stab a hippy in the neck with my SUV keys. ;D
