Why do 'competetors' feel the need to 'pull rank' on those posters on this board when they get cornered?
"Step on stage bro, then come talk to me" or "You will never have the guts to step on stage"
Honestly, I think those who go on stage and do it for nothing (which would be every bodybuilder except for 10 guys in the 'sport' now) is less of a person than those who just lift for themselves and do not need justify thier drug use and insecurites by going on stage.

Yeah I have to agree. Going on stage is vanity at it's finest. If they really wanted to help they'd volunteer to help adults read or candy stripe at hospitals. I only bring out my 58" chest and 22" peaked to fuck biceps out in the darkness of my room before I slay my old lady's smelly slice

You can be a BADASS without stepping on stage in a thong.

No different then the skinny A&F cock tasters around here always talking about there low bodyfat % or six pack when they talk to guys that are bigger or stonger. It's not difficult to have a low bodyfat when you way 140 soaking wet.

Well bro, many wars have taken place onstage, shit has gone down, think titus/kamali, haney/gaspari,
those guys were soldiers of muscle, they were willing to die posing, and flexing, they are true spartans
you not a real man, until you have donned a thong, and flexed your glutes HARD, and shouted "LIGHTS OUT BABY".

In terms of size and attitude not all huge Badasses can get up on stage due to bad proportions.

It's simply a matter of understanding. When someone has competed they know how hard it is to diet down and prepare for a contest. Competitors are the least likely to trash someone's pics, cause they know what they went through. That's all... but it's true, competing is harder than you think, and unless you'ved done it, it's easy to talk smack! ;D

Well you could be the next Dorian Yates and see the stage for a bunch of fags.
I know of one guy who has all the ingredients to be a Pro, size, conditioning basic allround genetics and he sees bodybuilding a lifestyle not a career or hobby.

because someone has competed, is competing or will compete is essentially meaningless...

People who get on a bodybuilding board and post something like "Ronnie looks like shit" and never have the sack to compete and ALWAYS post under a fake name are the biggest tools in the world. Why do many of you guys even train. There are many on here who train, juice, eat right and dont compete. What a freaking waste of time and energy.Competing is the only way to know how you stack up against others. The idea that some liitle goofball who doesnt even compete has the balls to knock IFBB pros is astounding to me.I wouldnt even train if I couldnt then compet in bodybuilding or powerlifting.Competing is what makes life worth living.Training for a reason is the only way to train.

your whole post is bull...
training for life is the only meaningful reason to train, if you train just to compete then you have ego issues

Many would disagree with you. Their reason for training is to look and feel better.
99% of people who lift and follow bodybuilding never take the stage. You shouldn't criticize them - because without them, there'd be no audience, and no show, for you to compete in.
-
I dont know what kind of training you guys do,apparently not very heavy, but anyone who says "training makes you feel better" is either very, very, very weak or doesnt train hard.Ive been training for 25 years and need to wake my wife up to put my socks on in the morning. Not sure how squatting 900+ or pulling in the upper 700s makes one feel better, but it just makes me sore and hurt.If I wanted to feel better Id spend all day at a masseuse.

So we can't criticize MLB baseball players for messing up because we haven't played professional baseball? We can't criticize a bad actor because we haven't acted? Look, if someone gets up on a local stage to compete, that's one thing and good for them, but if they go all the way and turn pro and all that entails, shouldn't they be open to obvious criticisms? They're on stage for one thing, to be judged physically against their peers. That's the contest. It's not the "who works hardest" or "who sacrifices the most", it's who looks the best in the context of those they're competing against. In short, being on the big stage, you know what you're getting into and you have to accept both the good and the bad, including the potentially misinformed. It doesn't make the comment any more or less valid either who it comes from. You don't need to be a recognized expert to know if something sucks.
And for the record, I agree with you about anonymity online. I'm against it, but that's a different issue entirely... I also have been training for the past 17+ years to improve myself - my physique, my health - not with the goal of competing. I don't think I'd make a very good competitor, either, but I don't think it makes me any less of a bodybuilder for it or any less able to give an opinion on someone else's look (keeping in mind that I'd only be commenting on the "presentation", not the person).

I don't think anyone trains solely to compete but some people are very competitive and want to compare themselves to others. Also it is a geat incentive to get in shape if you are going to be on stage in front of a large crowd.I certainly would not look down on anyone who chose not to compete but I have great respect for anyone who puts themselves through the hardship of a pre contest diet and training regime.

i have a very hard time as a competitive cage fighter and a competitive bodybuilder, the fighting serves as my cardio and the very heavy lifting helps me in the cage.

Sad thing is those there is a good amount of decent amatures and pros who share many of the same views as those "pimply faced turds" (also why in the hell are your underwear filled with stains you dirty asshole). I love though how everyone who doesn't compete must look like shit, be very young, have no life, work a shitty job, etc... seems to me like it's more the other way around in most cases.

Hey Monster E. :)
I think it's more like there is resentment from those who compete to those who do not because those who do not have no sense of what it takes to get up on stage and those who don't compete are usually the first to insult those who do, regardless of whether they are a pro or not. They (non-competitors) try to make it seem so easy and unless you have actually done it...ya don't know. It's like someone saying "oh please, it's not that hard to swim the English Channel. I swim 20 laps in my pool every day". They have no idea how much goes into getting yourself ready for such.
I don't agree with a lot of what that Billy guy says about competing makes life worth living. I believe those who train, do so for their own reasons. Some want to seriously build themselves for the stage, some want to look great naked ;), some just want to be HUGE, and some do it because it's their social scene. But...I believe we all do it for the same reason as well, we love what we get from it no matter what the reason is that brought us there.
Everyone has their own tastes and opinions as to what looks good to them and honestly I have no issues regarding someone's opinion of anyone else or myself...if it is an "honest" opinion and not just an insult to get a rise or deliberatly hurt someone. Yeah it might be funny, but it also may be hurtful and it makes sligh and takes away all the hard work they did to achieve a good sense of themselves.
And as far as another comment that the Billy guy said regarding the haters being pimpled faced little turd, we all know that's not necessarily true...but we also have seen many getbiggers outted with pictures that go on and on about how HUGE they are and their lifts only to find out that they are not as they claimed to be...and it's that behaviour that makes the "Billy M's" out there.
Ok, enough with my rant. Have a good day everyone! :)

Some people do spew that "well you get on a stage" quite a bit, it is rather old. Mind you, the majority of us that compete do not say that if you really look at it, it is just a few that say it repeatedly. I myself have never said anything of the sort in all my years on getbig.
That said, competing is harder than it looks trust me. I do fitness, and I assure you jumping in the air then landing in the splits almost breaking my patellas each time, suspending my body on just one hand etc....is not exactly easy. Before I ever competed I thought it was easier than it was. Once I started trying some of the stuff, and ended up falling on my head numerous times, I gained more respect for it.

We have had this discussion before.Skinny legs that squat 942.Once again, you, like so many on here, dont really train so you have no understanding of what muscles squat.Hint, its not quads.Did Steve Goggins have big quads?Does Eddy Coan have big quads?Does Vogelpohl?Did Bridges?Of cource, unless you have actually gotten under weight before its impossible for you to understand. However, heres what I will do.On Sept.19 Im doing my last heavy good morning day before a meet.I will film it and put it on YOUTUBE just for you.I guarantee you will see a good morning over 700,with no belt, suit or anything else. Then you will understand why some guys are strong and others talk about being strong.

Then you will understand why some guys are strong and others talk about being strong.
impress us by doing this....lol

Well bro, many wars have taken place onstage, shit has gone down, think titus/kamali, haney/gaspari,
those guys were soldiers of muscle, they were willing to die posing, and flexing, they are true spartans
you not a real man, until you have donned a thong, and flexed your glutes HARD, and shouted "LIGHTS OUT BABY".
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! D-mothafucking-P!
-
Its funny that you consider yourself to be this ultra competetive spirit cause you place 3rd out of 4 in the Mr. Northern Florida ....hahahaha your delusional as all hell... Id rather 'tred through life' raising kids and being married than some gym rat who takes steroids and peels the skin off the chicken before I weigh it as one of my 10 meals a day hahahah You think your Indiana Jones, but your just some guy who bought into Weider's marketing strategy. Now put your GNC gold club card away.
OUCH!!!!!!!!!! JaeJowned!
-
Some people do spew that "well you get on a stage" quite a bit, it is rather old.
That's cause your full of class. And you're right, competing is harder than it looks. You do fitness, which actually requires athleticism.....props to you.

This is the kind of stuff old man Basile would post if he was more of an angry roid raged kinda guy. I have a feeling old Bill here won't be around much longer with meltdowns of this caliber.

hahahaha, this skinny legged clown can't be for real, he reminds me of the Whaddya bench? skit on Saturday Night Live from a few years ago where they had 8 guys on a stage having roid rage and when they'd get angry their skinny legs would go flying up out of the chair, hahahaha, lay off the Halotestin "big guy".
Yeah, I think you should check his credentials before you pass some serious judgment like that, I heard of Billy long ago and was surprised when he posted on here.........dudes pretty bad ass!

He may be good at what he does Coach, but did you see that pic of him? He is morbidly obese. Why would anyone want to be a fat fuck just to put up big weights?
-
Morbidly obese, but still placed third in the NPC NEW ENGLANDS this year and second in the NPC NY METS.Now,I was not in good shape at either show and because I was coming back from a patella tendon rupture a year earlier,my legs were small, but I dont think you can place in regional bodybuilding shows by being morbidly obese.

Going Heavy = injuries...... hahahah you own youself with each post, delete your account fatty...more excuses than an NFL player in a strip club hahahah
-
Ummmm, going heavy is called powerlifting.Perhaps you could explain how I can compete in powerlifting without going heavy?Id be VERY interested in your vast expieriance and expertise.By the way,I believe Ronnie Coleman trains heavy,Branch Warren trains heavy,Levrone trained heavy,so it seems like training heavy sure makes for some impressive physiques.Again,I have a meet in Oct.,Id sure like your advise on how I can squat 900,bench 600 and pull close to 800 at 275 without training heavy. It would be nice to feel healthy going into a meet.

That is actually pretty impressive if you can do bodybuilding shows and powerlifting. I only saw that one pic of you where you were fat, but props top you if you can do both, not many people can.

Billy, i think you fail to recognize that your goals differ from mine.

Same deal as when Kamali was here, he thinks everyone who bashes him wishes they were him and could do the things they do.
-
Do you really think that I would want you to be like me?Ive had multiple surgeries over my career. My knee only will bend at a 97 degree angle.I have a partially torn bicep,a ruptured disk etc etc. and will be a mess by the time Im 60[if I make it that far].All Im saying ,and the original thread was about, guys who dont compete, have no right to say a guy like Ronnie Coleman looks like shit.First of all ,an 8 time MR.OLYMPIA can not possibly look like shit, but more importantly, doesnt he deserve respect just for the fact he puts his rep on the line everytime he competes.Knock his conditioning if you want or certain bodyparts, but for a guy who cant even muster up enough balls to get himself in shape to compete even at the local level, has ZERO right to knock those that suffer and do compete.

Well what we are saying is not everyone who follows or critiques BBer/BBing may have the desire to compete and it has nothing to do with not having the balls too.

its friday billy, i would own you soooo bad that your brain would rupture like every other bodypart in your body but frankly i dont give a flyin fuck, does ronnie coleman look like shit ? Id, say yes ... do I have any right to say that ...yes I do...id go further to say that 95% of those who step on stage look like dog shit. And further more, dont ell me what the original thread was about, I made the thread fatty...so tahts all i got to say. unless you want to further argue how great of an unordinary life you lead with your multiple surgeries and your broken knee...waaaaaa waaaaaawaaaaaa :'( :'( :'( ...if anything, you should listen to me!! I have no injuries and look like ive been carved out of stone!!!

thats not the point, billy is a quite teh annoying lil tiny tit
-
People who get on a bodybuilding board and post something like "Ronnie looks like shit" and never have the sack to compete and ALWAYS post under a fake name are the biggest tools in the world.
LOL! :o
-
I don't think anyone trains solely to compete but some people are very competitive and want to compare themselves to others. Also it is a geat incentive to get in shape if you are going to be on stage in front of a large crowd.I certainly would not look down on anyone who chose not to compete but I have great respect for anyone who puts themselves through the hardship of a pre contest diet and training regime.
Exactly, its like an addictition, placing in a show "Validates" their existance.
Honestly its just a cry for help.
-
Its so funny when some snot nose punk says something like "if thats all you have in life I pitty you".Probably posted by some pimply faced little turd whos younger then some of the stains in my underwear.Hey goofball. Are you married?Do you have kids?Or do you live with your mommy and daddy and spend Sat. nights by the flickering light of your computer.Anyone can tred through life working a shitty job, raising kids and living normally. What makes life worth living is competing against others.Of course,YOU WOULDNT UNDERSTAND THAT as you live through others accomplishments.
Funny, I always thought it was about competing against yourself ???
-
NO, "competing with yourself" is what you do on friday nights all alone in front of your computer.

"I look like Im carved out of stone"?If thats your picture next to your posts, then Id say the first thing you need to do is get an eye exam.By the way,Im hardly crying about my knee, thats the nature of the sport. No problem,I will be back on the platform soon.Of cource you have no injuries.Tough to get hurt when you squat 185 for a double with your training partner wrapping his arms around your waist to "assist" you.
-
Bwahahaha....
I don't know who you are talking to, but I would say that you owned them bigtime.
