Chic,
Last year if the top 3 in an IFBB show were already qualified for the olympia, then the next competitor got the olympia qualification.
Is that rule still in effect this year, because if its not, then there are some who wont qualify for the mr.O who usually do......i.e troy alves, johnny jackson, chris cormier, your boy KING,quincy taylor, etc, if they are unlucky in these next 2 shows coming up.
-
Yes, the rule stands.
If the top 3 in a show have previously qualified, then they will go to the forth place finisher for the qualifying spot.
-
chick you should try to make it so fewer guys qualify for the olympia. theres like 25 qualified now and thats way too many. Half those guys dont even get called out, they just get placed 16th. If there was only say 10 guys qualified for the show, there would be much better comparisons.

...and much lower revenue.
I say, let whoever qualify, qualify.........
I have no problem with more people qualifying...different fan bases, more athletes to the big dance, more countries represented, more fans to attend....more sponsor dollars.
-
I think 15-20 competitors for Mr.O is better

I hope King qualifies, do the top 3 or top 5 make it thru from the montreal.
COME ON KAMALI!

Some who are qualified won't attend... there won't be 25-30 on stage.

and we all know that is your opinion that really counts

What is really the difference?
Ultimately...they get cut down to the top 15 anyway.

Chick did you delete my post?

how? from the entry fee? surely you don't think the Olympia would be less likely to sell out if Marcus Haley or even Mark Dugdale were not in it.
and if the Olympia was only for the overall winners of the previous 12 months, the top tier contestants would have to enter more contests to try to qualify. that would mean better gates for the regional events.

There is no entry fee at th pro level...
Mark Dugdale, Marcus Haley, Ronnie Rockel, etc.....all have their own fan base, and generally speaking...no one goes to the Olympia to see one person, they go to experience the "Olympia weekend"....and see as many stars as they can.
Personally, I've said many times...I would have one person re-qualify from the Olympia...and thats Mr. Olympia...everyone else from 2nd down would have to enter shows and requalify.

top 3 qualify for next year, the rest gotta do another show and requalify would be good. But then again the top 3 other than mr.o USUALLY will do the arnold, but not always.
